Sick Leave-

Sick leave is earned in proportion to the hours worked at the rate of 0.0308 sick leave hours earned for every hour worked each fiscal year - July 1 through June 30.

The request for sick leave shall be submitted to the principal or supervisor for approval, in advance. In emergency cases, or when sick, the request will be called in to the District office.

Personal Leave-

Support staff personnel will be allowed six (6) days away from assigned duties so that they may conduct business of a personal necessity. Two (2) of these days will be granted up front.

The four (4) additional personal leave days are earned in hours proportionate to the employee's full-time equivalency (FTE), based on the following full-time rates:

Nine (9) month employees - 2.0 hours per pay period for sixteen (16) pay periods.

Ten (10) month employees - 2.0 hours per pay period for sixteen (16) pay periods.

Twelve (12) month employees - 2.0 hours per pay period for sixteen (16) pay periods.

Annual Leave-

Only twelve (12) month employees are eligible for paid annual leave, as follows:

A. During the first three (3) years of service (based upon hire date), an employee will accrue annual leave at the rate of 80 hours per Fiscal Year.*

B. During the fourth (4th) through tenth (10th) years of service (based upon hire date), an employee will accrue annual leave at the rate of 120 hours per Fiscal Year.*

C. During the eleventh (11th) through nineteenth (19th) years of service (based upon hire date), an employee will accrue annual leave at the rate of 160 hours per Fiscal Year. *

D. During the twentieth (20th) year of service and thereafter (based upon hire date), an employee will accrue annual leave at the rate of 200 hours per Fiscal Year.*

E. Each school-year employee who accepts a twelve (12) month position shall be credited with one (1) year of service for each full school year worked and credited for one (1) month of service for each month worked during part of a school year, from the employee's most recent date of hire. School-year employees are those who work regularly, but only during the regular instructional year.

* The accrual rate per pay period will be based on the number of pay periods in the Fiscal Year.

An employee shall begin accruing annual leave when they have successfully completed their probationary period and are recommended for continuing employment.
