Youโ€™re Invited! Celebrate 70 Years of Carmichael Neighborhood School ๐Ÿป๐ŸŽ‰

For 70 years, Carmichael Neighborhood School has been a place where generations of Bears have learned, grown, made memories, and built lasting connections. Now, weโ€™re bringing our school community together to celebrate this incredible milestone!

Please join us on Wednesday, September 30, as we celebrate Carmichael Neighborhood Schoolโ€™s 70th Anniversary!

The celebration will begin during the school day with a special BBQ for current Carmichael students. At 12:15 p.m., families, staff, alumni, and community members are invited to join us for a Ribbon Cutting and Time Capsule Ceremony honoring Carmichaelโ€™s history and looking ahead to its future.

Then, from 1:00โ€“3:00 p.m., the celebration continues with our 70th Anniversary Block Party! ๐ŸŽ‰ Come enjoy food trucks, music, games, activities, community organizations, and plenty of Bear pride. Whether you are a current Carmichael family, a former student or staff member, or simply part of the SVUSD community, all are welcome!

Carmichaelโ€™s story began in 1956, when Margaret Carmichael donated the land for the school, which was named in honor of her husband, William Carmichael. Seventy years later, that legacy continues through the students, families, educators, and community members who have helped make Carmichael what it is today.
We hope youโ€™ll come celebrate the memories, reconnect with old friends, and help us mark 70 years of learning, family, community, and Bear pride!

Our August Coyotes of the Month were May Larson for volleyball and Carden Patrick for cross country!

Carden is an excellent student-athlete and his teammates all look up to him. Carden works hard every practice and is a consistent performer at his meets. His teammates count on his leadership ability and his teachers all enjoy having him in class! Way to represent!

Maylene Larson consistently shows up to every practice, works hard, and has a great attitude. In the last game against Benson, she stepped up when we really needed her. Her serving helped bring us back into the game, and she also made some important passes. She is a great example of staying positive, working hard, being a great teammate, and always being ready when her team needs her.

Go Coyotes!

CTE Colts Welcome Congressman Juan Ciscomani!๐Ÿด๐Ÿ’™

Buena High School was proud to welcome Congressman Juan Ciscomani and his team for an afternoon highlighting the incredible opportunities available through our Career & Technical Education (CTE) programs!

During his visit, Congressman Ciscomani met directly with students, learned about the programs they are involved in, and heard why they chose their CTE pathways and how those experiences are helping shape their plans for the future.

He had the opportunity to visit students representing:

๐ŸŽฌ Film & TV
๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿณ Culinary Arts
๐Ÿ“ˆ DECA & Marketing
๐Ÿ”ง Automotive
โš™๏ธ Engineering
๐Ÿš” Law & Public Safety
๐Ÿฉบ Nursing
๐ŸŽญ Stagecraft

The best part of the afternoon was giving our students the opportunity to share their skills, experiences, and goals firsthand. Our CTE Colts have a lot to be proud of, and Buena loves any opportunity to show them off!

Thank you to Congressman Ciscomani and his team for spending the afternoon with us, listening to our students, and taking an interest in the programs preparing them for college, careers, and their futures.

๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿด We are proud of our amazing CTE Colts!
