Yesterday we had the pleasure of welcoming the incoming Class of 2030 as our Joyce Clark Middle School 8th graders visited Buena High School for a special campus tour and celebration!
Students enjoyed lunch on campus and were treated to incredible performances by Buenaโs Choir, Band, Milk Carton Improv Troupe, and the JROTC Rifle Team. They also toured the school alongside our Buena Thespian students, who shared what life at Buena is really like.
Throughout the visit, students heard directly from Buena students about CTE programs, clubs, and opportunities, were cheered on by the Buena Cheer Squad, and had some fun playing games with Student Council to win some Buena swag!
A big thank you to the staff and students from Joyce Clark Middle School for joining us yesterday. We loved hosting you and canโt wait to officially welcome the Class of 2030 to Buena High School next year! ๐

Students had an incredible time participating in our Food Service SFE Roving Chef Day, where they rolled up their sleeves and stepped into the kitchen to help make fresh pizzas to share with their classmates. From spreading sauce to sprinkling cheese, our young chefs got a hands-on look at what it takes to prepare meals for our schools!
Even our Superintendent, Terri Romo, joined in on the fun and helped out in the kitchen โ proving once again that we are truly Achieving Excellence Together.
To top it all off, lunch turned into a full-on celebration with a dance party alongside the SFE chef mascots! ๐๐บ The smiles, laughter, and school spirit filled the cafeteria from wall to wall.
Thank you to our amazing Food Service team and SFE partners for creating such a memorable experience for our students. At Huachuca Mountain Elementary School, learning happens everywhere โ even in the kitchen! ๐ฉโ๐ณ๐จโ๐ณ

During a recent visit to Sierra Vista, Governor Katie Hobbs had the opportunity to meet with the Cochise County Superintendentโs Student Advisory Council โ a dynamic group of student leaders representing schools across the county.
We are especially proud that SIX SVUSD students serve on this council:
๐ Trevor F. from Town & Country Elementary
๐ Sadie M. from JCMS
๐ Mirabella C., Greta S., Jason Y., and Veronica J. from Buena
A special congratulations to Veronica J., who serves as the Councilโs President, and Jason Y., who serves as Vice President! ๐
Students shared what itโs like to attend school in Cochise County and discussed their ideas and vision for the future with Governor Hobbs. Their thoughtful insights, leadership, and commitment to improving their schools and communities truly represent the best of SVUSD.
We are incredibly proud of these students for stepping up, speaking out, and helping shape the future. ๐
