Buena is full of amazing teachers and this year we are incredibly honored to name Jill Osterman as our Teacher of the Year! Mrs. Osterman teaches Social Studies at Buena and her students love coming to class everyday. Mrs. Osterman can often be found greeting her students in the hallway before class, giving out hugs as needed whether in celebration of an achievement or to show support in tough times, Her students know from the first day of class they are loved and cared about. Once class begins, Mrs. Osterman challengers her students to think about history in a variety of ways. The are challenged to analyze, create and investigate. Her lessons are thought out and creative, having students explore and make connections. Their work is evident throughout her classroom, as she is constantly displaying their assignments and celebrating their learning. She reviews her student's data, breaking down questions, reteaching and reassessing. Mrs. Osterman gives her students every opportunity to show their mastery of the content in different ways. Each lesson shows creativity and diversity, reaching all learning modalities. Congratulations to Mrs. Osterman for being Buena's Teacher of the Year!!

Social Studies teacher Mr. Michael Davidson is Joyce Clark Middle School's Teacher of the Year! Mr. Davidson works passionately to inspire and impact all those her meets each day. He has mastered the elusive art of being firm but fair, having set rules yet maintaining relationships, and keenly remembering that he teaches middle school students. His patience and understanding for the grade level is truly amazing, especially for a teacher newer to the field; Mr. Davidson is in year three of his teaching career. While remaining current with the latest instructional strategies and technologies, he can still reach a troubled or struggling student with simple, yet profound instincts of a veteran teacher. Likewise, he can challenge his students through amazing lessons and activities he brings to life for his class. Just recently, he and his teaching partners created an interactive lesson involving World War 1 trench warfare, getting the students actively involved in the history! Thank you for everything you do for our students and for bringing history alive in the classroom!

Village Meadows is so proud of first grade teacher Mary Cangiolosi! Since day one, Ms. Cangiolosi helps develop little heroes who aren't afraid of failing or making a mistake but rise when faced with adversity. As student's enter the classroom they are met with superhero love and a fist bump, high five, or a hug. As the students transition to their seats their spidey senses begin to tingle eager to start their day because they have grown from saying, "I can't," to understanding the "why and what" they are learning for the day. Her leadership and the language she uses in how she speaks about students is the reason we will not just have one superhero rise from our school but ALL because our kids are our future, a superhero just waiting to be discovered. Thank you Ms. Cangiolosi for being a superhero to our entire Wolfpack!
