Juneteenth Holiday
Sierra Vista Unified School District is offering free breakfast and lunch to all children under the age of 18 over the summer. Meals are available for pick up at Bella Vista Elementary, 801 N Lenzner Ave. Meal pick up will be by the flagpole at Bella Vista from 8:30 am- 9:30 am. This program ends on June 30th, 2022. Each bag will contain both breakfast and lunch items for children. Eligible children do not need to be present for parents to pick up meal bags. The second annual Summer Academy starts tomorrow at Bella Vista Elementary, PDS Elementary, Town & Country Elementary and Buena High. Buses will be out in the community picking up students and school zones will be in place around the 3 elementary schools. Let the summer fun and learning begin!!!

Congratulations to the class of 2022. Buena High School Graduation is tonight at 7pm at Buena’s Loveless Stadium. All graduating seniors will be issued one graduate parking pass and one guest parking pass for the event. Charleston Road from 4:30pm -10pm will be closed to all traffic from Colombo Avenue to Moson Road, except for those with parking passes. Additional parking will be provided at the Mall at Sierra Vista on the southeast side. SVUSD transportation will provide shuttles from the Mall at Sierra Vista, with buses running approximately every 15-20 minutes beginning at 5:00pm. 2022 BUENA GRADUATION INFORMATION We invite you to join in the celebration of Buena High School’s 2022 Graduation on Thursday, May 26th at 7pm at Buena’s Loveless Stadium. All graduating seniors will be issued one graduate parking pass and one guest parking pass for the event. Charleston Road from 2pm -10pm will be closed to all traffic from Colombo Avenue to Moson Road, except for those with parking passes. Additional parking will be provided at the Mall at Sierra Vista on the southeast side. SVUSD transportation will provide shuttles from the Mall at Sierra Vista, with buses running approximately every 15-20 minutes beginning at 5:00pm In order to promote the dignity and decorum of the ceremony the Buena Administration and the Senior class want you to know the following: Bags will be checked at each gate All guests should remain seated during the ceremony All guests should remain in the stands until the ceremony is concluded Please do not bring noise makers, any discovered at the gates will be confiscated. Any used during the ceremony will result in the user being removed from the facility. Guests are welcome to bring lawn chairs and blankets, if they choose to sit on the lower levels of the seating areas. School district policies and state laws that prohibit the possession or use of tobacco, e-cigarettes, firearms, alcohol, and illegal substances will be enforced. The main entrance to the stadium will be closed to the public. This entrance will be used only for the graduates. Guests will use the two side entrance gates. The Arizona Rangers and Sierra Vista Police will be assisting with field security. Handicapped Parking will be available on the west side of the student parking lot for vehicles with a guest parking pass and state issued handicapped placard or plates. In the event of inclement weather, graduation will be moved to the Gym/Klein Center. Due to the number of graduates and limited seating areas, we will be unable to accomodate any open seating in these areas. Graduates will be provided with inclement weather tickets in case of this for seating. No tickets are required for the stadium, and there is no limit to the number of guests for the football field.

BHS Graduation
We are excited to roll out a new English Language Arts Curriculum for the 2022-2023 school year! On Tuesday, May 17th from 4:30pm- 5:30pm we will be hosting a Parent Information Night with virtual representation from McGraw Hill Publishing, the publisher of the new Wonders and Study Sync ELA curriculum. They will be providing tools, tips and programs for parents to use to support their students learning. There will also be a Q&A session for parents to ask questions about the new curriculum. All About Kindergarten Early Entrance Testing Sierra Vista Unified School District allows the parents of a child whose 5th birthday falls between September 1 and January 1 of the upcoming school year to apply for early entrance to kindergarten if the child’s skills and maturity level indicate kindergarten readiness. The intent of the early entrance program is to make kindergarten available to younger children who demonstrate above-average performance as measured by early entrance assessments administered by Sierra Vista Unified School District No. 68. Buena Fine Arts Productions is proud to present the award winning classic James and the Giant Peach. In this play version written by Timothy Allen McDonald, follow James on his journey after the loss of his parents. He is forced to move in with his nasty aunts and then encounters a magic potion. What will he do next? Come join us on May the 6th and the 7th at the Klein Center for the Performing Arts. Doors open at 6:30 P.M. and the show will start at 7:00. Tickets will be 5 dollars and can be purchased at the door.
