October is National Bullying Prevention Month. Bullying can impact a student’s education, physical, emotional health, and their safety and well-being.
Together we can create communities that are kinder, more inclusive and accepting for all students. In support of National Bully Prevention Month we are encouraging all SVUSD students and staff to wear orange on October 18th to show unity against bullying.
All SVUSD schools and offices will be closed for fall break from October 9th through 13th. We are wishing all SVUSD families a safe and joyful fall break.
This Friday, October 6th is a half day at all SVUSD schools. Please note that all students will be released by the half day schedule. Buena High School at 10:30 am, all elementary schools at 11:15 am, and Joyce Clark Middle School at 12:30 pm. We are wishing all students and families a wonderful fall break October 9th through 13th!
Today is National Custodian Appreciation Day and SVUSD is giving a big shout out to all our custodians. Thank you for keeping our schools and offices clean, safe and healthy. We appreciate all their hard work, our schools would not be what they are without their help!

This Thursday 9/14 and Friday 9/15, are half days at all SVUSD elementary schools to accommodate our Parent/Teacher conferences. Please note that all elementary students will be released by the half day schedule at 11:15 am. Thank you!

Today we held the Roadrunner Really at Town and Country Elementary. In the morning we all gathered to honor our amazing students excelling in math, ELA, Specials (PE, technology and art), Title One reading and our Literacy program. To show how safe, respectful and responsible roadrunners received certificates for Citizenship and PBIS points for students and teachers were also awarded. Staff, students, parents and visitors had a wonderful time enjoying the excitement and are proud of the accomplishments archived.

This morning Buena staff had to call 911 for a student experiencing a medical emergency. An ambulance is at the high school. The student’s parents have been notified. There was no threat or danger to Buena High. Thank you to our nursing staff and EMS for their care and quick response.

Last week Village Meadows 6th Graders in Mrs. Kruse's class learned about solar energy and how solar heat transfers. The students had fun building their own solar ovens and then proving the concept by making smores. Wolfpack hands on science, way to go!
Buena Open House will be held August 16th 5PM-7PM. Buena students and their families will have the opportunity to rotate to all of their student’s classrooms and receive an overview of the curriculum, meet the teacher and check out the classroom for each period. Families will follow their student’s schedule and travel to each class. See you on Wednesday!
The Carmichael Bears are happy to welcome Dr. Caroline Ross as their counselor and thrilled to see her colorful and inspirational hallway. Welcome to the team Dr. Ross! In every hallway at Carmichael, our students are now seeing a “Sensory Path”. The sensory path is a series of guided movements for kids to follow, shown by markings on the ground or walls. As our students follow the path and complete the movements, they work off excess energy and develop their gross motor skills. Way to go!
Yesterday morning Bella Vista families got to enjoy a treat sponsored by the Bobcat PTO. The PTO invited all parents and guardians to “Pastries with Parents” where delicious confections were offered to start the day and the opportunity to order spirit gear and learn all about the PTO. Come out on Friday, when the PTO is kicking off the fundraising season for this school year at Julie & Sammy's 33 Flavors Ice Cream Parlor between 4 pm to 8 pm. Thank you Bobcat PTO volunteers for a sweet morning!
