It is "Maycember" and our teachers are embracing the joy! From Wild West Day to 1st and 2nd grade honors ceremonies, we were busy today!
Our third graders had a WILD WILD WEST good time at the park! Activities included roping, horse races, sack races, pin the tail on the donkey, snake in the boots, line dancing and more! What a fabulous way to close the year and get one step closer to being fantastic fourth graders!

Thank you to all of you who celebrated our A+ recognition. A+ isn't about test scores, it is about a culture where high expectations help all students succeed in big ways! Students from all of our elementary schools came together at Buena High School to compete in a fun-filled day of track and field events. From sprints and relays to long jump and mile runs, our students gave it their all, showed amazing sportsmanship, and had an absolute blast!
A huge thank you to all of our PE teachers for helping organize this fantastic event — especially Coach Mac from Huachuca Mountain Elementary School for all of the hard work and coordination that made the day such a success.
We also want to give a special shout out to the Buena Track & Field student-athletes and Coach Bristow for volunteering their time and helping encourage our future Colts throughout the day!

As the school year comes to a close, we are seeing an increase in inappropriate behaviors. At times, we see behaviors that students may view as “horseplay,” such as pushing and shoving, piggyback riding, water play, or other playful interactions. While these actions may not be intended to cause harm, they can quickly become unsafe or lead to misunderstandings between students.
Additionally, there are behaviors that go beyond horseplay and involve personal boundaries and privacy. Examples may include actions such as pantsing, inappropriate touching, or misuse of restroom spaces (including looking into stalls). These behaviors are not appropriate in a school setting and are taken seriously, as they impact student dignity, safety, and trust.
We also want families to be aware that, in certain situations, behaviors involving personal boundaries or safety may require further action. This can include school consequences and, in some cases, involvement beyond the school setting. Families always have the right to advocate for their child if they feel their safety or privacy has been impacted.
