Dear JCMS Families, As the weather begins to warm up, we want to remind everyone of the importance of adhering to our school dress code. While we understand the desire to dress comfortably in the heat, all students are expected to follow the established guidelines each day. Recently, we have seen an increase in attire that does not meet dress code expectations, including off-the-shoulder tops, spaghetti straps, tube tops, and shorts that are too short. In addition, students are expected to wear pants at the waist at all times. Beginning immediately, we will be conducting daily dress code and ID checks each morning. Students who are not in compliance will be required to call home for a change of clothing. We appreciate your support in ensuring your child comes to school dressed appropriately and ready to learn. Partnering together helps us maintain a focused and respectful learning environment for all students. Thank you for your continued support, Principal Paz

Congratulations to our three honorees! 🥳 Mr. Dunlap, our 8th grade Social Studies teacher, was awarded a Golden Apple for being an amazing educator and for the impact he makes in the classroom every day. We also have two incredible All-Stars! Only one student from each grade level is selected from across Cochise County to represent their school. This year, both the 7th and 8th grade All-Stars attend JCMS!💜 We are so proud of Brexen (7th grade) and Brilynn (8th grade) for representing what it means to be truly well-rounded scholars. 🌟 Their hard work, character, and dedication make our school proud!

Dear JCMS Families, We are preparing to begin our end-of-year benchmark assessments in the areas of Math, Reading, Science, and Social Studies. These assessments are an important opportunity for students to demonstrate the growth they’ve made this year, and we need your support to help them be successful. Please help us by ensuring your student: • Charges their Chromebook every night • Brings their charged Chromebook to school each day of testing • Gets a good night’s rest • Brings a water bottle and a pencil • Brings a book to read in case they finish early We offer breakfast at JCMS each morning, but a hearty breakfast at home works just as well! We are proud of the hard work our students have put in this year and encourage them to do their very best. Thank you for your continued partnership and support.

Presidents Day (1)
JCMS kicked off our new Thirsty Thursday Trolley this week and it was a hit! A huge thank you to our incredible PTSO for providing beverages and to our admin team for supplying snacks for our hardworking educators. This small token of appreciation brought big smiles to our teachers and staff. We hope to continue this tradition weekly or biweekly (as long as supplies last!). It may seem like a small gesture, but our teachers were truly grateful. They give so much of themselves every single day to educate and support our students and this is just one way we can show our appreciation. If you would like to help us keep this tradition going, donations are always welcome. Together, we can continue to uplift the amazing staff who serve our JCMS students daily. Thank you for supporting our school community! 💜

✨ Student Voices Making an Impact! ✨

During a recent visit to Sierra Vista, Governor Katie Hobbs had the opportunity to meet with the Cochise County Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council — a dynamic group of student leaders representing schools across the county.

We are especially proud that SIX SVUSD students serve on this council:
🍎 Trevor F. from Town & Country Elementary
📘 Sadie M. from JCMS
🎓 Mirabella C., Greta S., Jason Y., and Veronica J. from Buena

A special congratulations to Veronica J., who serves as the Council’s President, and Jason Y., who serves as Vice President! 👏

Students shared what it’s like to attend school in Cochise County and discussed their ideas and vision for the future with Governor Hobbs. Their thoughtful insights, leadership, and commitment to improving their schools and communities truly represent the best of SVUSD.

We are incredibly proud of these students for stepping up, speaking out, and helping shape the future. 💙
