Yesterday we had the pleasure of welcoming the incoming Class of 2030 as our Joyce Clark Middle School 8th graders visited Buena High School for a special campus tour and celebration!
Students enjoyed lunch on campus and were treated to incredible performances by Buenaβs Choir, Band, Milk Carton Improv Troupe, and the JROTC Rifle Team. They also toured the school alongside our Buena Thespian students, who shared what life at Buena is really like.
Throughout the visit, students heard directly from Buena students about CTE programs, clubs, and opportunities, were cheered on by the Buena Cheer Squad, and had some fun playing games with Student Council to win some Buena swag!
A big thank you to the staff and students from Joyce Clark Middle School for joining us yesterday. We loved hosting you and canβt wait to officially welcome the Class of 2030 to Buena High School next year! π

Today, Buena staff called 911 for a student experiencing a medical emergency. Emergency Medical Services responded immediately and are on campus. The studentβs parents have been notified.
There was no threat or danger to Buena High School. We are grateful to our staff and EMS personnel for their quick action, professionalism, and care in responding to this situation.
This medical emergency occurred during our scheduled ALICE lockdown drill. We want to thank our students and staff for their patience, focus, and cooperation as we navigated both the drill and a real-life medical situation at the same time. While the medical emergency was serious and appropriately prioritized, it also provided an additional layer of real-world context during our safety drill, reinforcing the importance of preparedness and calm, coordinated response.
At this time, the drill has concluded, and campus operations have returned to normal.
Thank you for your continued support of Buena High School.
Thank you,
Buena High School Administration

We are excited to invite you to Talk with Terri, a special community listening event with Superintendent Terri Romo.
Thursday, January 29
5:00β6:00 PM
Rothery Education Conference Room
This event is not a presentation or formal meetingβit is a listening tour designed specifically for Superintendent Romo to hear directly from our families. This is an opportunity for parents and guardians to share their questions, concerns, experiences, and ideas as we work together to support students and strengthen our schools.
Superintendent Romoβs priority is to listen, learn, and better understand what matters most to you. Your voice is important, and your feedback will help inform the future of Sierra Vista Unified School District.
Everyone is welcome, and we encourage all families to attend and take part in this open, welcoming conversation about our schools, our community, and our future.
We hope you will join us for this important opportunity to be heard.
