Jayden Thomas made a significant contribution to the team's 56-0 victory at Pueblo on Friday night. He returned a punt for a touchdown of more than fifty yards and scored two receiving touchdowns totaling 110 yards.' Caroline always sets a good example for the JVA team with her energy and diligence, but many people noticed last week how much discipline she allowed herself to have in order to improve herself and her teammates.

Bella Vista had a blast celebrating their PBIS kick-off last week, reviewing rules, expectations, and the awesome rewards Bobcats can earn. They’re all hyped to be safe, respectful, and responsible as they rack up points for prizes! 🎉👏 Huachuca Mountain celebrates! 🎉 We're thrilled to welcome our new 5th & 6th grade Student Council leaders – the leaders of tomorrow! 👏 On Friday, we had a fantastic home game for our Colts, kicked off with an all-band pregame show. Bands from Buena, JCMS, Palominas, and Ft. Huachuca put on an incredible performance! 🎶🏈 As for this week, here’s what’s in store: 📚 PDS is hosting a book fair, spirit week, and their Title I Night on Wednesday evening from 4 PM to 5 PM, with the book fair open for parents. 🌍 Town & Country is having their "Read Around the World" Title I Night on Wednesday evening from 4 PM to 5 PM. ➗ Bella Vista is inviting families to their Math Night on Thursday—where math becomes even more fun! 🏅 Village Meadows will honor their Students of the Month and PBIS champions on Friday. 🎭 Don’t miss out on Heist Quest, a production by the Buena Theatre Arts, with opening night on Friday at 7 PM and a second show on Saturday at 7 PM. It’s sure to be a masterpiece! Finally, we wish all of our sports teams—whether traveling or playing at home—the best of luck! We’re proud of you! 💙🎉

Deztany- In the first flag football game in the Buenas school's history, Deztany scored three touchdowns to seal the victory. Later, Deztany added a rushing touchdown on a punt return after scoring the first-ever touchdown on a kickoff return. Deztany was equally as effective when it came to playing defense. She was blocking passes when she was moved to the rushing quarterback, whereupon she repeatedly sacked the player, enabling Buena to secure the team's historic victory. Christian- With a low round of 40, Christian guided the golf team to win against Desert View last Tuesday. Additionally, he scored 66 points this past weekend in the Flowing Wells tournament, Christian used the Stableford scoring method, to lead the team in points. He led the team to eighth place out of sixteen teams, finishing 11th out of 91 golfers.

SVUSD Weekly Highlights 🏫✨ We've had another action-packed week across all campuses! Check out some of the amazing things happening: 🎉 Village Meadows celebrated students who excelled on Arizona's Academic Standards Assessment (AASA) testing with a refreshing trip to The Cove! Plus, students across campus flashed their best smiles for Picture Day 📸. 📚 At Bella Vista, students dived into new math concepts while learning in their busy classrooms. Meanwhile, back at Village Meadows, our amazing "Mom Elves," Ms. Shepart and Ms. Kattke, prepared PBIS prizes for delivery 🎁. Students had filled out order forms, exchanging their hard-earned PBIS points for prizes—this time, the most popular reward was a coupon to read a book to their class! 📖 🐻At Carmichael the Buena SLAC (Student Leadership Athletic Committee) visited for the first time, and everyone had an amazing time! Our Bears loved having their mentors on campus. The SLAC students tutored, guided, and even helped with shopping at the PBIS store. A huge thank you to Buena SLAG for supporting and inspiring our Bears! 🎉 ✂️ JCMS hosted its first-ever 6th-grade PBIS Rock, Paper, Scissors Tournament on Friday! Students had a blast while playing safely, respectfully, and responsibly. The finals were live-streamed to classrooms so everyone could cheer on their peers! 🏆 🎶 At Buena High, students stormed the halls for the first time this year, rallying behind the band, cheerleaders, and football team! 🎺🏈 🗓️ Coming up this week: Elementary Parent-Teacher Conferences are happening on Thursday and Friday, with early release for students at 11:15 AM. If you haven’t scheduled an appointment yet, don’t worry—just contact your school! Picture Days will take place at PDS, Town and Country, and Carmichael. Village Meadows will also host a Title I Program Information Session during conferences on Thursday. 🌟 Last week, SVUSD was full of pride and achievements! 🌟 🏅 Town and Country kicked off Monday with their first awards assembly of the year, celebrating Roadrunners for their accomplishments in reading, math, Title I reading Superstars, PBIS, following the Roadrunner Code, PE, Tech, Art, and recognizing our PBIS Superstar teachers! 🎉 Carmichael celebrated their PBIS winners for August! 🏆 They also introduced our new anti-bullying curriculum to keep our schools a safe and supportive place for all students. 💙 📚 Village Meadows welcomed parents to learn about their 4th-grade curriculum and how they can be involved in their students' success. 🏆 Village Meadows also celebrated their Students of the Month and PBIS winners for August! Further, they honored their Wolfpack with plaques for proficiency and being highly proficient on Arizona's Academic Standards Assessment (AASA) last school year. To celebrate their hard work, students will visit the Cove this week! 🏊‍♂️ 🎉 Congratulations to Elisabeth Jimenez, principal of Carmichael Elementary, for winning first place, and Leslie Nogales, 6th-grade teacher at Huachuca Mountain, for winning third place in the Sierra Vista Herald’s vote for Best Educator in Sierra Vista! 🏐 JCMS Volleyball team played their first games, while Buena Golf and Football teams hit the road! This morning, Buena High School staff had to call 911 for a student experiencing a medical emergency. EMS are at Buena and the student’s parents have been notified. There was no threat or danger to Buena. Thank you to our staff and EMS for their care and quick response.
