Buena High School

🎉💚🧡 BIG NEWS, SVUSD! WE HAVE SO MUCH TO CELEBRATE! 🧡💚🎉

The Arizona State Board of Education has released school letter grades for the 2025–2026 school year, and we are proud to announce that THREE of our FIVE schools earned an A rating! 🌟

🏆 Buena High School – A ⬆️ IMPROVED!
🏆 Huachuca Mountain Neighborhood School – A ⭐ MAINTAINED!
🏆 Pueblo del Sol Neighborhood School – A ⬆️ IMPROVED!
👏 Town & Country Neighborhood School – B
👏 Carmichael Neighborhood School – C

A HUGE shoutout to Buena High School and Pueblo del Sol for moving up to an A, and to Huachuca Mountain for maintaining its A rating! What an incredible accomplishment! 🎉

But here's what we want our entire SVUSD community to know: We are proud of ALL our schools! 💚

These letter grades represent hard work, dedication, perseverance, and the incredible partnerships between our students, teachers, staff, and families.

We know there is still work to be done, and we remain committed to growing, improving, and providing every student with the opportunities they deserve.

A letter grade is one measure of success, but it doesn't tell the whole story of the amazing things happening in our classrooms every single day.

To our students, staff, and families — THANK YOU for everything you do to make SVUSD a place where students can learn, grow, and succeed!

💚🧡 Together, we are Achieving Excellence! 🧡💚

🚧👷‍♂️ BUILDING FUTURES, ONE OPPORTUNITY AT A TIME! 🏗️🔨

Last week, six Buena High School CTE students headed to Tucson for Southern Arizona Construction Career Days, where they got an exciting firsthand look at careers in the construction industry!

From hands-on learning experiences to exploring career and education pathways, our students had the opportunity to discover what's possible beyond the classroom. They also connected with industry professionals from across Southern Arizona, gaining valuable insight into the skills, training, and opportunities available in the field.

Experiences like these are what CTE is all about—connecting classroom learning to real-world careers and helping students build a foundation for their futures!

👏 Way to represent Buena, Colts! Your future is under construction, and the possibilities are endless! 💙💛

We want to make you aware that the National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Watch for Cochise County.
A tornado watch means that weather conditions could potentially develop into severe weather, but it does not mean a tornado is occurring or that there is an immediate threat.

At this time, all SVUSD schools are operating as normal, and there is no need for changes to our daily routines.
Please know that the safety of our students and staff is always our top priority. SVUSD has established emergency response procedures in place for a variety of weather-related situations, and our school leadership teams are prepared to implement those procedures should conditions change.

We will continue to closely monitor weather conditions and alerts from the National Weather Service throughout the day. Should additional safety measures become necessary, our schools are prepared to respond, and we will communicate any important updates with families.

We understand that weather alerts can sometimes cause concern, and we want to reassure you that we are staying informed, remaining prepared, and taking the appropriate steps to keep our schools safe.

Thank you for your continued trust and partnership as we work together to keep our students and staff safe.

☕ Great conversations can lead to brighter tomorrows! 🧡💚

Yesterday, SVUSD was proud to host School Café, bringing together community leaders, local businesses, civic and service organizations, faith-based groups, and other community partners around one important goal: supporting our students and strengthening our schools.

School Café, an initiative of the Cochise County School Superintendent’s Office, creates an opportunity for schools and community members to connect, share ideas, identify needs, and explore meaningful ways we can work together.

A huge thank you to everyone who pulled up a chair, joined the conversation, and shared their time and ideas with us. Strong schools are built with strong community partnerships, and we appreciate everyone who is helping create more opportunities for SVUSD students to thrive.

Connecting Schools. Building Community. Supporting Students.

🎭 Buena Fine Arts Presents Horse Girl

Get ready for a night of dark comedy, teenage intensity, and a whole lot of horse obsession! Buena Fine Arts proudly presents Horse Girl, a dark teen comedy by Jenny Rachel Weiner, on October 2 & 3 at 7:00 p.m. at the Klein Center for the Performing Arts at Buena High School.

At the center of Horse Girl is Ashleigh, a 12-year-old equestrian enthusiast whose world revolves around horses and her riding club, the Lady Jean Ladies. When the girls learn that their beloved horses may be in danger, their devotion quickly escalates into an increasingly wild mission to save them. What begins as youthful passion takes some surprising—and very darkly funny—turns as the play explores friendship, loyalty, obsession, growing up, and just how far someone might go for something they love.

But the story on stage is only part of what makes this production special.

This is student theatre from curtain to curtain. Buena students aren't just the performers you see on stage—they are involved in designing, building, and running the entire production. From sets and costumes to lighting, backstage operations, technical production, and even the ticket booth, students are gaining hands-on experience in every aspect of bringing a live theatrical production to life.

When you attend a Buena Fine Arts production, you're not simply coming to see a play. You're supporting student actors, designers, technicians, artists, builders, and creators who have put their talents and hard work into creating something for our community.
