ππ We are thrilled to celebrate the incredible achievements of our schools at the AZ PBIS Awards ceremony on February 6! πβ¨
What is PBIS?
Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is an evidence-based, tiered framework designed to support students' behavioral, academic, social, and mental health. SVUSD has implemented PBIS across all schools and is proud of the progress and achievements we have made!
We are especially proud of Town & Country Elementary for being the Top Dog in implementing all three PBIS tiers with fidelity! ππΎ Their dedication sets an incredible example, and as a district, we are striving for all schools to reach Level 4. We couldnβt be more proud of the hard work and commitment shown across SVUSD!
A huge round of applause to the following schools for their outstanding commitment to fostering positive school environments:
π
Level 1 Award:
Bella Vista Elementary
Buena High School
Pueblo del Sol Elementary
π
Level 3 Award:
Carmichael Elementary
Huachuca Mountain Elementary
π

π Teacher Feature: Mrs. Jurik β A Kindergarten Legend! π
For 18 years, Mrs. Jurik has been a guiding light in the kindergarten classrooms of Village Meadowsβhelping little learners take their first big leap into education! π«β¨
To her, kindergarten is a world of discovery, and she loves watching her students grow from playful preschoolers into confident first graders. Her classroom, affectionately called the Puppy Pack, is a warm and nurturing space where every child feels valued and supportedβa perfect fit within the Wolf Pack family. πΎπ
Mrs. Jurik embraces hands-on learning and small-group centers, always looking for new ways to spark curiosity and excitement in her students. She credits much of her success to her incredible paraprofessional, Mrs. Urbina, who works closely alongside her. ππ¨π
Outside the classroom, sheβs a devoted grandmother, spending time at the Reid Park Zoo and Childrenβs Museum with her granddaughter. She enjoys knitting, reading, traveling, and family timeβand this year, sheβs preparing for an exciting new adventure: retirement! πβοΈ
Principal Mrs. Wambach describes her perfectly:
"Mrs. Jurik is more than a teacherβsheβs an icon, a leader, and a transformative force in the lives of young minds. She has become an integral part of Village Meadows, leaving a lasting impact on every student lucky enough to be in her 'Puppy Pack!'"
Though sheβll be stepping away from the classroom, her legacy will live on in the hearts of the many students, families, and colleagues she has touched. Thank you, Mrs. Jurik, for your years of dedication, love, and inspiration! ππΊ
