
Michelle Moreno Jimenez dedicated her junior year to completing CNA clinicals, demonstrating her commitment to both academics and professional development. Now returning to the team in her senior year, she has proven to be a valuable asset, showcasing athleticism and leadership. Jaxson Bell exemplifies consistency, always bringing a strong work ethic and determination to every competition. His competitive spirit drives both himself and his teammates to push their limits and strive for excellence. As a natural leader, he inspires confidence and teamwork, making him an invaluable presence on and off the field.


Buena Auto made an appearance last weekend at Kars for Kids! Mr. Bounds and students demonstrated how to remove spark plugs. We have some very talented mechanics entering our community!

Buena High School Criminal Justice Club students participated in a joint training exercise with Rio Rico High school students and the and Arizona Department of Public Safety Gang Task Force. Students received tactical training on high risk traffic stops, identifying gang behavior, suspicious activity, undercover scenario's, defensive tactics, and training on individuals experiencing mental health crisis. This training was very beneficial for students looking at careers in the law enforcement career field.


Buena had the opportunity to visit Cochise College yesterday . We are grateful for our partnership and excited for our students taking steps toward their future!

The Sister Cities Club recently hosted 15 students and their two amazing teachers from Sierra Vistaβs sister city, Radebeul, Germany! These students spent nearly three weeks immersed in our community, with an incredible week-long stay in Cananea, Mexicoβour other sister cityβright in the middle.
During their visit, they explored Buena High School and traveled across Arizona, from the breathtaking Grand Canyon to the fascinating Desert Museum in Tucson. A huge THANK YOU to all the amazing host families who welcomed them into their homes and made this experience unforgettable! ππ‘

Meet Ms. Leslie Cooley, one of our amazing 3rd grade teachers at Town & Country! Though this is her first year teaching 3rd grade, she brings 20+ years of experience in education, previously serving as a Title I & literacy interventionist and a Special Education para for 10 years.

Ms. Cooley and her colleague, Ms. Thuma, split subjects to enhance learningβMs. Cooley teaches math & science, while Ms. Thuma covers ELA, writing, and social studies.

Her students are hard at work mastering multiplication tables, tracking their progress each week. Those who complete all 12 tables will celebrate with an ice cream party at the end of the year! π¦

She keeps learning exciting with daily math challenges, where students solve word problems for PBIS points or small prizes. STEM Wednesdays bring hands-on activities like building the longest paper chain with only two sheets of paper, a ruler, and scissors!

A Yuma native, Ms. Cooley loves traveling (Maine is a favorite spot! ππ―) and spending time with her mini schnauzers, Muffin & Milo. She even found a donut shop in Maine that makes potato donuts! π©
