All schools will be closed on Friday, April 21st and Monday, April 24th for a Spring Holiday. We will see everyone back in the classroom on Tuesday the 25th. Have a safe weekend.

The Bolts are showing off their talents - The Talent Show is back! - Huachuca Mountain students presented their special gifts on Friday 4/14/23. An amazing variety of talent from singing, dancing, jokes, piano performances, to a Tuxedocc presentation put smiles on the audience's faces and laughs in their bellies. The happy audience included all students, staff, and parents. A special thanks to the staff for organizing the show and our parent volunteers!

Registration for the 3rd annual Summer Academy starts today!!! The Summer Academy is free to all students who are currently enrolled in Kinder-12th grade, no matter what school you attend. The Academy is Monday through Friday beginning on June 5th and ending July 14 . Students will be able to take up to four courses of their choosing. Remediation in one or both English Language Arts and Math is offered for K-8th and credit recovery for high school student in ELA, Math, Health, Future Focus, Tech Foundation and Social Studies. We also offer a wide variety of Enrichment class so students can explore and have some fun over the summer. In an effort to improve our bus services we have made changes to Huachuca Mountain bus routes. Route 17 has been divided and added to route 14 & route 26. Stops on Cherokee/Raven and Estrada Pl/Puerto Pl are now on route 14. Stops on Demello/Serrito Ranch, Demello/Astro, Pinon/Spruce and Pinon/Agave are now on route 26. Stop times are been adjusted on route 14 and route 26 to accommodate the new stops. Students going to the Boys & Girls Club in the afternoon will ride route 7. There are no changes to route 23. Last Thursday was our annual Read Across America Family Night and it was an amazing time. Families and students came out to enjoy games, meet some great characters, and take home a book of their choosing. Thank you to all of the staff for their hard work and to our families who came out to enjoy. Happy Reading!!!

Spring Break is March 13th through 17th. All school and district offices will be closed. We hope everyone enjoys their break and will see you all again on Monday, March 20th.

Huachuca Mountain Elementary is proud to honor sixth grade teacher Tana LaPaglia as their Teacher of the Year! Mrs. LaPaglia is a highly effective teacher, as evidenced by her students' state test scores and benchmark assessments. She has the ability to produce students who master Math and ELA standards far above state averages. By providing cooperative learning opportunities, her students are continuously learning. She uses her student data to determine when instructional changes in Tier One instruction are needed. Her classroom represents a growth mindset model, where students are able to learn, fail, reassess and succeed. Thank you Mrs. LaPaglia for helping our Bolts be the best!

This week SVUSD honored 8 outstanding educators as Teacher of the Year for each of our schools. Every one of these individuals is an exemplary teacher and help all of their students be the best student they can be. Over the next 8 days we will meet each one of these teachers and learn a little bit about what makes them so amazing. Congratulations to all of you, you make SVUSD an amazing district for our students!

Join us as we celebrate reading and all of the adventures a book can take us on. Follow the White Rabbit for a night of games, activities, books and much much more. Maybe even a tea party with the Mad Hatter. Read Across America Title 1 Family Night is on Thursday, March 9th from 4:00-5:30pm at the Rothery Educational Center. We hope to see you there!!
