Huachuca Mountain Elementary School

Due to our area forecast for ice and snow overnight all Sierra Vista Unified School District schools will have a delayed start time of two hours. Buena will begin at 9:20am, JCMS at 11am and elementary schools at 10am. Bus times will be pushed back 2 hours on all routes and stops. All release times will remain as a normal school day. Breakfast will still be served but only cereal. Thank you and please be safe.

Buena Fine Arts Productions brings you a comedy-filled, children’s holiday musical, fit for all ages. The Day Before Christmas follows a cold-hearted Jack Frost and sweet Suzie Snowflake as they get in a big argument on… the day before Christmas! Jack causes chaos, while Santa and his crew have work to do! While the others prepare for Christmas, a team of elves and reindeer attempt to warm Jack’s heart and save the holiday. Will Jack’s plan be successful? Or will Santa’s troupe come through and take to the skies? Come and find out! Join us December 1st and 2nd at The Klein Center for an evening full of fun! Doors will open at 6:30pm and the show will begin at 7:00pm. Tickets will be $5 at the door. Bring the whole family, we can’t wait to see you there!

Just like adults do, students sometimes get stuck, feel stressed or get overwhelmed at school. SVUSD's Exceptional Student Services Department is hosting a Coping Skills & Self Regulation Night for students and families to learn about ways to help navigate those feelings. Learn about resources available, practice activities that help refocus, and much more. Everyone is welcome to attend on Thursday, November 17th from 4-6pm at Town & Country Elementary Cafeteria.

Thank you to the men and women who have served in our nation's armed forces. In honor of Veterans Day, all schools and offices will be closed today.

The school letter grades for the 2021-2022 school year came out and our school's did amazing!! We even had 2 schools that made a 2 letter grade jump up. Thank you to all the staff, students and parents who made this possible. Stay tuned over the next few weeks for our celebrations and our plan to bring every site to an A school! Phebe, Ayden and Kalli are the Lightning Bolt PBIS Superstar Students!! Phebe is a PBIS superstar because she is always responsible. She takes school very seriously and always sets the example of what it means to be a PBIS leader. If you need to know what is going on, Phebe is the girl you can always count on! Way to go Phebe! yden is a PBIS superstar because of how kind and thoughtful he is. He is always a team player and loves to have a good time whether he is in class, on the playground or eating lunch. He is respectful to his peers, his teachers and is an amazing PBIS example. Thank you Ayden! Kalli’s peers describe her as funny, loyal, kind and so smart. She is always respectful in the classroom and everywhere at school. She is someone you want on your team because she brings out the best in everyone around her. Kalli you are going to do great things! Our staff Superstars are Ms. Auger, Ms. McCalister and Ms. Rivera! Ms. Auger is a positive light every day at work. She is helpful and always uses our PBIS language throughout the day to her class and it shows! You’re the best, Ms. Auger! Ms. McCalister sets the perfect example of how to run a classroom using PBIS. She is very knowledgeable and her classroom is managed consistently with respect, being responsible and being safe. Thank you Ms. McCalister! Ms. Rivera has adopted PBIS in her first year of teaching and is doing awesome! She is consistent and her class thrives off of the positive reward system. Way to go Ms. Rivera !

It is National School Psychologist week and here at SVUSD we have a great group that support our students! School psychologists provide direct support and interventions to students, consult with teachers, families, and other school-employed mental health professionals (i.e., school counselors, school social workers) to improve support strategies, work with school administrators to improve school-wide practices and policies, and collaborate with community providers to coordinate needed services. Thank you for shining bright in our school family!

It is always fun to have Halloween at school! Many of our sites held costume parades for student's to show off their costumes. Even staff got dressed up! Check out some of staff Halloween Costumes from across the district. We hope everyone had a safe and fun Halloween!

The issue has been resolved. All email and phones are back up. Huachuca Mountain is currently experiencing phone and email trouble. At this time we cannot make or receive calls or emails. Technicians are working hard to fix this issue as soon as possible. Thank you

Fall Break is October 10-14th and all district and school offices will be closed. We hope everyone has a safe break and we look forward to seeing you back at school on Monday, October 17th.

Huachuca Mountain Parents & Guardians, We will be having a delayed weather release due to a storm with lightning in the immediate vicinity. Car riders and walkers may be picked up from the classroom beginning at 2pm. Buses will run as usual

Next week is Spirit Week so break out your best Spirit gear and let's celebrate!!! We start with "Best Dressed Day" on Monday since it's Picture Day!!

The Cochise County Fair is this weekend and 4 of our HM classes submitted art projects. Ms. Thrasher's Kinder class project "Comooooooonity Helpers" received a 1st place ribbon. Ms. Clawson's 1st grade class project "Cream of the Crop" won 2nd place. Mrs. Fernald's & Mrs. Auger's 2nd grad classes watercolor project "HM is mooooooving down to the County Fair" received a 1st place ribbon. Today our 1st and 2nd graders headed down to Douglas for a field trip to the County Fair to see their projects on display.

Last Friday Huachuca Mountain student got together for a PBIS assembly to learn all about being safe, respectful and responsible. The PBIS captains demonstrated what those behaviors looked like and what they don't look like. Thank you to everyone who helped out. Now let's have a PBIS star year!
