Way back in November, Huachuca Mountain welcomed a team of judges from Phoenix who visited our campus to evaluate us for the prestigious A+ School of Excellence award. It has been a long few months of waiting, reflecting, and continuing the important work we do every day for students, and we are thrilled to share that we were selected!
This recognition belongs to our entire Bolt community! We are blessed by our dedicated teachers and staff, our incredible students, and our supportive families. Being named an A+ School of Excellence affirms what we already know: Huachuca Mountain is a place where students are known, challenged, and loved, and where learning happens at high levels for all.

What a fun and delicious day at Huachuca Mountain Elementary School! 🍕🎉
Students had an incredible time participating in our Food Service SFE Roving Chef Day, where they rolled up their sleeves and stepped into the kitchen to help make fresh pizzas to share with their classmates. From spreading sauce to sprinkling cheese, our young chefs got a hands-on look at what it takes to prepare meals for our schools!
Even our Superintendent, Terri Romo, joined in on the fun and helped out in the kitchen — proving once again that we are truly Achieving Excellence Together.
To top it all off, lunch turned into a full-on celebration with a dance party alongside the SFE chef mascots! 💃🕺 The smiles, laughter, and school spirit filled the cafeteria from wall to wall.
Thank you to our amazing Food Service team and SFE partners for creating such a memorable experience for our students. At Huachuca Mountain Elementary School, learning happens everywhere — even in the kitchen! 👩🍳👨🍳

Huachuca Mountain's fourth grade had a blast on Glow Day! Students were able to conduct experimemts using gliw sticks, analyze glowing angles, and write a glowing passage about our reading passages. We have so much fun learning!
HM is gearing up for our very own Winter Olympics! We had a torch relay, ice skating, bob sledding, curling, and students got to pick the names of their countries along with fun facts! Team Warthogs won the most medals in kinder today!

HM will soon be designated a Purple Star school! What is that?! We welcome ALL students, and now our Student Council and NEHS members are trained to happily invite new military students to become a Lightning Bolt! Today, we discussed the amazing opportunities that our school, culture and community has to offer! Thank you Mrs. Ramsey for your time!
What a morning! The Buena SLAC team came to play kickball and snowball with our student's who purchased the opportunity through PBIS! Third grade came the closest to beating the high schoolers but fell short 6 to 7. It is so amazing to see our past Lightning Bolts come back and have fun with future Buena Colts!
