Yesterday, the amazing Army Veteran, former Buena student/athlete, and Mayor of Sierra Vista, Clea McCaa came to speak to Huachuca Mountain Student Council students! He discussed how he became the Mayor, how to create a strategic plan, and ways to give back to the community. We cannot wait to meet again! Thank you so much for your time today!

Our garden space at Huachuca Mountain needed some love! The first picture is where it started, and the last is the final project! This project was a community effort for sure! Thunder Mountain church got us started, and Huachuca Mountain PTO bought the rock. Student Council and NEHS made it happen! (And public schools are run on husband labor! 😉) During the process, parents came to help! 🩵🩵Our students were amazing, and did hard things!⚡️⚡️Thank you Ms. Wise, Ms. Vinch and Coach Mac! A very special thank you goes to the Sierra Vista United Methodist Church for graciously opening their Activity Center and allowing our students and staff to call it home for the day.

We are happy to share that full electricity has been restored at Huachuca Mountain. All students are being escorted back to the school building at this time.
Dismissal will take place on a normal schedule, and all students can be picked up directly from Huachuca Mountain this afternoon. Bus transportation will also run as usual.
Thank you again for your patience, flexibility, and support today. We are so proud of our staff and students for handling this unexpected situation with such resilience.

If you would like to sign your student out early, please come to the Activity Center doors with your ID. Staff will be available to assist you there.
