What is CTE? Career and Technical Education is the practice of teaching skills and knowledge required for specific jobs or fields of work. After completing CTE classes here at Buena, you have the opportunity to earn certifications that you need to start your career after graduation. Our CTE programs are either a 2 or 3 year program with classes that provide hands-on training, mentorship and college readiness. Here at Buena High School, we are keeping up with the latest trends in the industry and workforce demands. Our students go on to be successful in post secondary trade school, industry profession, and university programs. Emma was selected as the Athlete of the Week for her outstanding performance throughout her season. She led our Girls' Cross Country team this school year- placing 10th at Sectionals and 34th at State. Congratulations for an amazing senior season!
Nick Hiser was selected as athlete of the week for his outstanding performance at the state cross-country tournament. Nick placed second in the state overall. Congratulations Nick, Buena's proud of you!



Huge shout out to Nathan Green who recently won 1st place in the nation at the DECA Virtual Business Competition. The DECA VBC involves running a virtual business simulation and competes with students across the country. There are state rankings, regional rankings, and a national leaderboard. Nathan topped the nationwide leaderboard running a simulated entrepreneurship business.

Congratulations to our boys cross country team who finished 4th in the state championships with 2 boys finishing in the top 25. The girls had 1 finish in the top 50!

Buena High School's College and Career Night lit up the cafeteria this past Wednesday, drawing a massive crowd of students and families on the hunt for exciting opportunities on the horizon! ππ
π₯ What a success! Visitors from all walks of life flocked to explore tables brimming with info about local, state, and national colleges, military paths, and local job prospects in the Fire Department and law enforcement. π«πΊπΈπ©βπ
π Not to forget, local nonprofits like Rotary Club, Kiwanis Club, VFW, and the Education Foundation joined the mix, offering insights into scholarships and support services for those chasing their higher education and career dreams. ππΌπ€

This morning, Buena High School staff had to call 911 for a student experiencing a medical emergency. EMS and police are at Buena and the studentβs parents have been notified. There was no threat or danger to Buena. Thank you to our staff and EMS for their care and quick response.

Ben was selected as athlete of the week for his great performance during the Sunnyside football game. His field goal put us one point above Sunnyside at 15-14. Ben is a wonderful example to his teammates both in school and in his sports.
Schade Smith was selected as the Athlete of the Week for outstanding preformance throughout her senior season. She led the team in kills and hitting percentage. Schade is recognized for her work ethic and positive attitude.

Barrett Damato was selected as Athlete of the week for his performance on the Mountain Bike Championships where he placed third for boys varsity. Teammates say he is a great leader and a great friend to have on the team. Congratulations Barrett!
