Recently, our School Safety Officer at Carmichael Elementary School spent time with our 5th and 6th grade students talking about careers in school safety and law enforcement. Students asked thoughtful, insightful questions and were genuinely engaged in the discussion β€” a true reflection of their curiosity and excitement about future opportunities.

We are incredibly thankful for our strong partnership with the Sierra Vista Police Department and the Cochise County Sheriff's Office for supporting this program and investing in our students. Together, we are building relationships, inspiring futures, and keeping our campuses safe. πŸ’™

Dear Families,

The fire alarm was activated at Carmichael, and the Fire Department is on route to campus. Out of an abundance of caution, all students and staff are evacuating the building at this time.

During this process, the school office is closed, and no visitors are allowed on campus. We will share an update as soon as more information becomes available and it is safe to return to normal operations.

Thank you for your understanding as we prioritize the safety of our students and staff.

Dear SVUSD Families,

We are excited to invite you to Talk with Terri, a special community listening event with Superintendent Terri Romo.

Thursday, January 29
5:00–6:00 PM
Rothery Education Conference Room

This event is not a presentation or formal meetingβ€”it is a listening tour designed specifically for Superintendent Romo to hear directly from our families. This is an opportunity for parents and guardians to share their questions, concerns, experiences, and ideas as we work together to support students and strengthen our schools.

Superintendent Romo’s priority is to listen, learn, and better understand what matters most to you. Your voice is important, and your feedback will help inform the future of Sierra Vista Unified School District.

Everyone is welcome, and we encourage all families to attend and take part in this open, welcoming conversation about our schools, our community, and our future.

We hope you will join us for this important opportunity to be heard.

On Friday, our students and staff celebrated the 100th day of school by dressing up as how they imagine they’ll look when they’re 100 years old. It was such a fun way to celebrate 100 days of learning, growing, and smiling together! We loved seeing all the imagination and school spirit on display. Here’s to many more days of learning ahead! πŸ’―

Today we celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. 🌈 He taught us to be kind, fair, and to stand up for what is right. Let’s remember his dream by using our words to help, our actions to care, and our hearts to include everyone. πŸ’™ We hope everyone enjoys their day off, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone back at school tomorrow! 😊
