Pick-Up and Drop-Off Information

Campus Hours:

Playground gates open at 7:30 AM; please do not drop off students before this time, as we do not have staff available to supervise them before 7:30 AM or after 3:10 PM.

No Parking: Parking is not allowed along either car line during drop-off or dismissal.

Designated parking is available for parents/guardians who wish to walk their students to the door.

Dropping Off: Please use a single line for drop-offs on either side. Double parking creates unsafe conditions for staff and students crossing into campus.

Bus Gate: Only bus riders enter and exit through the bus gate. All other students must use designated entrances.

Late Arrivals: Doors are open until 8:00 AM. After this time, parents/guardians MUST sign their students in at the office.

Picking Up Your Child From School: To minimize crowding at dismissal, we do not sign out students less than 20 minutes before the bell. Please do not park along the pickup line; designated parking is available if you wish to walk up to pick up your student.

Walkers will cross at the designated crosswalk.

ANNEX: Only 6th-grade students who do not have younger siblings may be dismissed from the annex. NO student drop-offs at the annex in the mornings.

Boys and Girls Club: Students will gather on the front lawn at dismissal to meet Boys and Girls Club staff members, who will walk club members to their center.

Caring Connections/Child Time: Students being picked up by Caring Connections or Child Time will gather on the front lawn at dismissal to wait for their respective buses.

Safety First at Carmichael

Carmichael is a closed campus and ALICE-certified, which means visitors must sign in at the front office any time they come onto school grounds. Our gates will be locked during school hours and classroom doors will be locked at all times.

Students will remain in classrooms during storms and heavy rain. Dismissal will be delayed if the weather is unsafe. In such cases, we will inform parents through an automated call, text message, and notifications via our SVUSD App.
