🌟🎉 Yesterday was a day of triumph for the Wolfpack! 🐺 With the spirited support of the Buena cheerleaders and their classmates, our students were celebrated for their outstanding accomplishments! 🏅 From PBIS Top Point Earners to Student of the Month, Honor Roll to Principal Honor Roll, and remarkable progress in the Galileo benchmark tests for ELA and math, our students truly excelled! 📚🔢 Even the lower grades soared to achieve the Acadience Goal! 🎯 Proud parents filled the venue to honor their star students! 🌟 And as a well-deserved reward for their dedication, all receiving students who showed growth will enjoy a trip to the Cove! 🏖️ Let's keep the momentum going, Wolfpack! 🌟 #AchievementUnlocked #WolfpackPride 🐾

Village Meadows Sixth Graders Rockin' January 🌟 Mrs. Kruse’s awesome sixth graders haven't been hibernating this month - they've been busy as bees 🐝! Helping Paws for Multiplication 🐾 Our sixth graders turned into math superheroes, using arrays to help their third-grade buddies master multiplication. Not only did they reinforce regrouping skills, but they also showed off their PBIS role model skills like champs! 🏆 Algebra Jeopardy: Game On! 🎮 Mrs. Kruse's class transformed the classroom into an algebra arena with a Jeopardy showdown! Using coach strategies, they reviewed their math skills in a fun and engaging way. We bet those equations were no match for them! ⚡️ Battleship at Wolftime: Coordinate Champs ⚓️ Math class got a nautical twist with a game of Battleship at Wolftime. Plotting pairs on a coordinate plane became an exciting adventure, proving that learning can be a blast! 💥 Space Scavenger Hunt: Out of This World! 🌌 To top it all off, the sixth graders embarked on a cosmic scavenger hunt, searching for clues about objects in space. Their curiosity and teamwork were out of this world! ✨ Way to go, Wolfpack! 🎉📚👵🏼👴🏼🚀✨ Last Friday, SVUSD marked the 100th day of school with incredible enthusiasm! 🎉 Teachers and students alike joined the celebration with unique themes at different schools. On Friday, the Sierra Vista Symphony Orchestra invited all Cochise County 5th graders to a FREE concert at Buena High School! SVUSD was so grateful that five of our elementary schools were able to participate in this amazing yearly event. 🎻🎺 From classical masterpieces to modern hits like The Mandalorian and Harry Potter themes, the symphony had the students inspired by the music around them! They danced in their heads to a lively can-can and swung their arms to the ending song. ✨Special shoutout to Buena High School Senior Garrett Parnaby for his mesmerizing trombone solo! But the fun didn't stop there! Each instrument in the orchestra was introduced to the students, and they got to hear the unique sound of each one up close. This was a fantastic opportunity for them to learn about different instruments and maybe even discover a new passion for music! A huge thank you to the Sierra Vista Symphony Orchestra and their sponsors for making this amazing event possible! Dear Parents of Sierra Vista Unified School District, We understand that the recent transportation delays have caused concerns and frustrations for both you and your students. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and would like to provide you with some clarity on the situation. Unfortunately, Student Transportation of America (STA), our transportation partner, faced unexpected challenges when four employees abruptly left their positions. While it was known that these employees were planning to leave at the end of the school year, the timeline shifted unexpectedly, leading to the current staffing shortage. We want to assure you that the leadership at STA was proactive in addressing this issue. New drivers were already enrolled in the training program to cover the anticipated departures at the end of the year. Additionally, STA has arranged for new drivers to be transferred from other locations, and they will soon join the Sierra Vista team. These new drivers, along with those undergoing training, are eagerly awaiting their state certification. We expect some of the new drivers to be available to begin their routes at the beginning of February with the remainder of drivers being available through the end of March. STA will also continue to hire and train additional drivers to ensure a more robust and reliable transportation service in the future. Both Sierra Vista Unified School District and STA are working diligently to minimize the impact of these delays on your students' transportation to and from school. We understand the importance of reliable transportation for your children's education and well-being. We are genuinely excited for the new drivers to join our team and contribute to easing some of the delay issues. We believe that their addition will enhance the overall efficiency and reliability of our transportation services. In the meantime, if you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to our transportation department. 🐝📚✨ Exciting News from the SVUSD Spelling Bee! 🎉🏆 Today was a buzz of words at the Rothery Education Center as 13 brilliant contestants from our six elementary schools and Joyce Clark Middle School showcased their spelling prowess in the district-wide spelling bee! Representing each elementary school and JCMS, the participants spelled their hearts out, showcasing true dedication and linguistic skills. Our IT department has already contacted our service provider, Cox Communication, regarding an equipment failure. Cox is actively working to resolve the issue and restore the system promptly. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. During this time, we kindly request that you utilize email addresses to contact the schools. We appreciate your understanding and patience as we work to resolve this issue. Thank you.

Buena will begin at 9:20am, JCMS at 11am and elementary schools at 10am. Bus times will be pushed back 2 hours on all routes and stops. All release times will remain as a normal school day. Breakfast will still be available but only cereal, lunch will be served as normal. Buena will not have zero hour. Thank you.
