Just like adults do, students sometimes get stuck, feel stressed or get overwhelmed at school. SVUSD's Exceptional Student Services Department is hosting a Coping Skills & Self Regulation Night for students and families to learn about ways to help navigate those feelings. Learn about resources available, practice activities that help refocus, and much more. Everyone is welcome to attend on Thursday, November 17th from 4-6pm at Town & Country Elementary Cafeteria.

Thank you to the men and women who have served in our nation's armed forces. In honor of Veterans Day, all schools and offices will be closed today.

It is National School Psychologist week and here at SVUSD we have a great group that support our students! School psychologists provide direct support and interventions to students, consult with teachers, families, and other school-employed mental health professionals (i.e., school counselors, school social workers) to improve support strategies, work with school administrators to improve school-wide practices and policies, and collaborate with community providers to coordinate needed services.
Thank you for shining bright in our school family!

It is always fun to have Halloween at school! Many of our sites held costume parades for student's to show off their costumes. Even staff got dressed up! Check out some of staff Halloween Costumes from across the district. We hope everyone had a safe and fun Halloween!

Today a student was caught with a simulated toy weapon and a small CO2 cartridge while on campus. Village Meadows staff stopped the student immediately and escorted the student to the office. The toy weapon and cartridge were confiscated, Sierra Vista Police Department was called and the studentβs parents were notified. The student will face disciplinary action in line with district policy. Thank you to Village Meadows staff and SVPD for their quick action and assistance.

All district and school offices will be closed on Monday, September 5th in honor of Labor Day. Please have a safe and happy holiday weekend.

The Cochise County Sheriffβs office identified an event at a Cochise County school about a student bringing a firearm and ammunition to school on August 29th. This event did NOT happen at a Sierra Vista Unified School District school. We will always notify all parents in the event an actual firearm is ever brought on campus. Students and staff safety is a top priority and parent communication is critical.
Thank you to all area law enforcement for protecting all Cochise County schools and children.

Who is ready to start school?!?!?!
All SVUSD schools have their first day tomorrow. We are excited to have everyone back after the summer break. Just a few reminders:
Buses will be out in the community so please be cautious when driving. There are a lot of first day jitters so routes may take a little longer than normal.
Drivers, be on the lookout for all school zones and remember to slow down.
The national free meal program ended last school year so meals are no longer free for all students. Be sure to load your MySchoolBucks account so your students can buy meals if they need.
All students at Carmichael Elementary still receive free meals.
Tomorrow is an early release day. Elementary ends at 12:45pm, JCMS ends at 2:15pm and Buena ends at noon.
We cannot wait to see everyone tomorrow!
We cannont wait to see everyone tomorrow

The Wolfpack is excited to start a new school year!!! Next Monday we will be hosting an Open House at Village Meadows from 4:30-6:30pm.
