Join us on our last Spirit Week of the year!

πWhat a wonderful staff we have! π
On Friday, May 1st, the JCMS family came together to surprise the admin team with a beautiful waffle bar and heartfelt gifts. Principal Paz and Dean Hardgrave were truly showered with love and appreciation. Our students also played a big role in making the day special. All day long, they made sure to wish us a Happy Principalβs Day, and those moments meant more than they probably realize. In a time filled with uncertainty and moments of sadness, we continue to find reasons to lift each other up and celebrate one another. Thatβs what makes JCMS so special; our sense of family. π

Today we said goodbye to our SRO as she begins her new chapter; retirement! While we truly wish she could have finished the year with us, we understand that itβs time for her to enjoy this well-earned season of freedom. We have deeply appreciated having Officer Grady on our campus, and the next few weeks without her will certainly be felt. She made a lasting impact on the lives of our JCMS students and staff. We were grateful to celebrate her with a retirement send-off, sharing a meal and one last moment together. We wish her nothing but the very best as she begins this exciting new chapter in life. πππ

β¨ Celebrating Dedication. Honoring Legacy. β¨
On Tuesday, we had the privilege of celebrating some of the most dedicated and inspiring members of the Sierra Vista Unified family. π
This special evening was all about recognizing the incredible employees who have reached milestone years of service β 10, 15, 20 years and beyond β and honoring those who are beginning an exciting new chapter in retirement.
Together, these 37 outstanding staff members represent an incredible 390 years of service to our students, schools, and community. That impact is immeasurable.
A special thank you to the Education Foundation of Sierra Vista for sponsoring this meaningful event and providing our retirees with a special gift as they begin their next chapter. We are also grateful to Buena Culinary for catering a wonderful reception for our honorees prior to the presentation.
To our longevity honorees and retirees: thank you for your commitment, your passion, and the difference youβve made in countless lives. You are the heart of what it means to be SVUSD.

Our amazing science department has been doing an incredible job bringing learning to life with hands-on lessons centered around Earth Day. Today, students took their learning beyond the classroom by heading outside to help beautify our campus. We are so proud of their hard work and commitment to taking care of their environment. Itβs inspiring to see our students not only learning about the importance of protecting our planet, but also taking action right here on campus!

Celebrating our incredible instructional coach, Mrs. Everett! There is no job too small or too large that she wonβt take on. From mentoring new teachers, planning testing, to assisting the principal with essential paperwork, covering classes, and even making sure those often overlooked, our support staff, custodians, and kitchen crew, feel appreciated, she does it all with heart and dedication.π Mrs. Everett is truly something special. Her positivity, work ethic, and genuine care for others make a lasting impact on everyone around her. With 20 years of service in SVUSD, we are especially honored that she chose to spend her milestone 20th year with us at JCMS. We are beyond grateful to have her as part of our school family!π

Shoutout to everyone who came out to our Boots & Belles Social! π€ β¨ A special thank you to our PTSO, Mrs. Hays and her Student Council, and all of the teachers and support staff who stayed to help chaperone.
Everything ran smoothly, and most importantly, the kids had a blast! From giant Jenga and arm wrestling to bucket pong, dancing, cornhole, and so much more, it was a night full of fun, yummy treats, and great memories. Itβs always a good time at JCMS! π

In the face of heartbreak, our SVUSD family showed the true meaning of compassion and unity. π
Following the loss of two beloved members of the Bella Vista Bobcat family, students from across all of our schools came together to create hearts filled with messages of love and support.
On Wednesday evening, after campuses had quieted, our principals walked the halls of Bella Vista, carefully hanging each heart. Together, they filled the office and cafeteria with warmth and surrounded the space between the two classrooms with an outpouring of careβcreating a powerful reminder that no one grieves alone.
We are incredibly proud of how our SVUSD family has come together to lift up one another during this difficult time. π

Families may purchase yearbooks using the attached information through April 30. Please note that quantities are limited, so we encourage you to order as soon as possible to guarantee a copy.

Weβve noticed an increase in students arriving on campus with coffee, energy drinks, and junk food. When asked to dispose of these items before entering the classroom, some students are choosing to consume them quickly instead. This behavior can be unsafe and is a growing concern.
To support a healthy and focused learning environment, please help us reinforce the following expectations:
* Only water should be brought into classrooms.
* Snacks may be eaten during lunch only.
* Coffee, energy drinks, and outside food should not be brought into school.
We appreciate your support in helping keep our students safe and ready to learn.

Dear coyote families,
We are so excited for our Boots and Belles social tomorrow, Friday, April 17. We could use a little more help selling pizza and soda. Please let us know if you can help by emailing us at jcmscoyoteptso@gmail.com. Thank you!
