It was a hot summer! Our security guards have been a constant presence on campus, braving the elements daily during morning duty, passing periods, and all the way through dismissal. To show appreciation, Principal Paz gifted our JCMS security team with hats to help protect them from the sun. They were very thankful and will wear them proudly! 💜💜💜

Dear Coyote Families,
We hope you enjoyed a restful and fun Fall Break!
We wanted to share an update regarding our recent master schedule adjustment. Our goal was to ensure that our 7th graders were not eating lunch so early in the day and to create a more balanced schedule for all students.
In addition, after reviewing data from our recent benchmark assessments, we identified students who would benefit from additional academic support. For some, this meant replacing one elective with a Title I support class to help strengthen foundational skills. Students receiving this extra support will remain in the Title I class through the end of the quarter, unless they show significant improvement before then.
We appreciate your continued support and partnership as we work to meet the needs of every student. We’re happy to share that our new schedule was successfully implemented with minimal disruptions.
Thank you for being an important part of our Coyote community! If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our office.

Both students and adults had an incredible time—and yes, the “older folks” even taught the kids how to do the Electric Slide! 💃🕺 We can’t wait for the next dance party! 🎉

Dear Families,
Earlier today, a junior high student made a threat via text related to a school shooting and shared it with another student. That information was immediately reported to administration, and the school was placed on a Safety Hold. This allowed us to conduct security checks and begin an investigation without delay.
The Sierra Vista Police Department was called to assist and the evidence was reviewed and substantiated, however there was never a gun on campus. Please rest assured that proper discipline procedures have been followed and consequences issued pursuant to state law and district policy.
We understand that you may feel concerned about the timing of this communication. Please know that these situations are sensitive, require careful measures, and take time to handle appropriately. The safety of our students is always our top priority.
Thank you to those staff and students who reported this information to our administration to ensure the safety of our school.
At this time, all students are safe and school operations have resumed as normal. Thank you for your understanding and support as we work together to keep our school community safe.
Sincerely,
JCMS Admin
Spirit Day 1 HIGHLIGHTS! Tomorrow the challenge is to BUILD A GLOWING FUTURE (dress like a construction worker- hard hats, vests, and neon colors) Let's Glowwww! 💜

💜 Congratulations to our A, B, and C teams! 💜 The Lady Coyotes dominated the court today with impressive victories over Paul Huber Middle School. Way to go, Coyotes! 🏐👏#OnePackOnePurpose

💜💜Don't forget about Spirit Week!💜💜
Monday: 😎 Our future is so bright, we gotta wear shades (or a hat) 🧢

Even a Vikings fan and a Packers fan can put aside their rivalry when it comes to learning! In Mrs. Davenport’s science class, students collaborated to tackle density problems, proving that teamwork and critical thinking are a winning combination. 🏈💚💜 🧪

Each year, on the third Friday in September, our nation observes National POW/MIA Recognition Day, a solemn reminder to honor those who were Prisoners of War and those still Missing in Action, and to rededicate ourselves to the promise of never forgetting them.
Mr. Dunlap, our Social Studies Lead Teacher, collaborated with the local VFW to create a meaningful POW/MIA table display in the cafeteria. With the support of our Instructional Coach, Mrs. Everett, the table and accompanying information were carefully prepared to reflect the significance of the day. Students, drawn by their curiosity, stopped by to learn and reflect, gaining new insights into this important part of our nation’s history. 🇺🇸 🖤
.

Our Student Council did an awesome job with blue and white face painting this morning to show support for Buena High School. Students and staff also rocked their Buena Blue 💙 while enjoying the fun and camaraderie.
Go Colts! 🐎💙
