✨ 6th Grade Shark Tank: Innovation in Action! ✨ Our amazing 6th grade students recently stepped into the world of entrepreneurship with their very own Shark Tank project! Each team was challenged to invent or innovate a product, then take it through the entire business process—from designing and advertising, to marketing and finally pitching their ideas to potential investors. Students showcased impressive creativity, collaboration, and communication skills as they brought their business ideas to life. From catchy slogans to clever marketing strategies, their work reflected both imagination and real-world thinking. 👏 We’re so proud of these future innovators and leaders. 💧🌍 Our second-grade Roadrunners took part in a powerful Water Wise activity focused on global water awareness! To help students understand what nearly 2 billion people around the world experience daily, they participated in an outdoor water-hauling challenge. 🚶‍♂️🚶‍♀️ Along a safe, straight 50-yard path, students worked in teams to carry 2-gallon containers of water — gaining insight into the challenges of water access and the importance of teamwork. 🤝💦 This hands-on experience was a meaningful and memorable way to connect classroom learning with real-world issues. 💙 #WaterWise #GlobalAwareness #RoadrunnerPride #LearningByDoing #SafeRespectfulResponsible #HandsOnLearning #TeamworkMatters #WaterIsLife #EmpoweringYou 💧🌎👣

🍕👩‍🍳 Roadrunners who earned top PBIS recognition in their grade level were treated to an exciting Roving Chef experience! As a reward for their positive behavior, these standout students became chefs for the day — creating their own personal pizzas with a variety of tasty toppings and making adorable (and delicious!) strawberry mice. 🏃‍♂️🏅 Our elementary students from Bella Vista, Huachuca Mountain, Town and Country, Pueblo Del Sol, and Village Meadows came together at Buena High School for their first annual Track Meet—and it was a total blast! 💥 Six events filled the day with energy and excitement: • 100 Meter Dash • 400 Meter Dash • Mile Run (4 laps) • 4 x 100 Meter Relay • Long Jump • Softball Throw 👟 Each school sent 30 student-athletes—5 boys and 5 girls from grades 4–6—who competed in 1 or 2 events each. 🏅 Ribbons were awarded to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners of each event! 🙌 A huge thank you to the PE teachers from the five elementary schools for organizing this incredible event, and to the Buena cross country and track athletes for helping run it smoothly! It was an amazing day of sportsmanship, school spirit, and fun. This time, Ms. Elson shared Smart Cookie with our second graders. In this heartwarming story, a little cookie feels unsure of her smarts while surrounded by clever cupcakes and brilliant rolls. 🐾✨ Future Coyotes in the House! ✨🐾 Last week, JCMS was thrilled to welcome all SVUSD 6th graders to campus for an exciting preview of middle school life! 🎉 Our visiting students were greeted with a warm welcome from the JCMS Band and Student Council, followed by an introduction from Assistant Principal Pizutto and Principal Wright. They got a sneak peek at all the fun, learning opportunities, sports, and activities that await them next year! 🎶📚🏀 Student Council led small group tours across campus, giving 6th graders a chance to ask questions, learn the layout, and hear straight from current students about what to expect. 🌍 Earth Day Birdhouses: A Creative STEAM Project with 2nd and 4th Graders! 🐦🏠 In honor of Earth Day, our 2nd and 4th-grade students teamed up for a fun and environmentally-conscious STEAM project: creating birdhouses from recycled milk cartons! 🌱✨ Students took milk cartons from the cafeteria that would have been thrown away and transformed them into beautiful, functional homes for our feathered friends. They also got creative by using leftover art supplies and other materials, turning what might have been waste into something wonderful! This hands-on project not only allowed students to flex their artistic muscles, but also helped them understand the importance of recycling and sustainability. They learned that even the smallest materials can have a big impact on the planet! And to top off their Earth Day celebration, they enjoyed a fun treat: "dirt" cups with Oreos and gummy worms! 🍪🪱 A sweet ending to a day full of creativity and learning!
