Dear Families,
We are excited to kick off our state testing season and celebrate all the hard work our students have done to prepare! This is a great opportunity for them to show what theyβve learned and how much theyβve grown. You can help by ensuring your child gets plenty of rest, eats a healthy breakfast, and arrives at school on time each day. Encouraging words from you can go a long way in boosting their confidence. Thank you for being our partners in helping every student do their very best!

π Teacher Feature: Mrs. Jurik β A Kindergarten Legend! π
For 18 years, Mrs. Jurik has been a guiding light in the kindergarten classrooms of Village Meadowsβhelping little learners take their first big leap into education! π«β¨
To her, kindergarten is a world of discovery, and she loves watching her students grow from playful preschoolers into confident first graders. Her classroom, affectionately called the Puppy Pack, is a warm and nurturing space where every child feels valued and supportedβa perfect fit within the Wolf Pack family. πΎπ
Mrs. Jurik embraces hands-on learning and small-group centers, always looking for new ways to spark curiosity and excitement in her students. She credits much of her success to her incredible paraprofessional, Mrs. Urbina, who works closely alongside her. ππ¨π
Outside the classroom, sheβs a devoted grandmother, spending time at the Reid Park Zoo and Childrenβs Museum with her granddaughter. She enjoys knitting, reading, traveling, and family timeβand this year, sheβs preparing for an exciting new adventure: retirement! πβοΈ
Principal Mrs. Wambach describes her perfectly:
"Mrs. Jurik is more than a teacherβsheβs an icon, a leader, and a transformative force in the lives of young minds. She has become an integral part of Village Meadows, leaving a lasting impact on every student lucky enough to be in her 'Puppy Pack!'"
Though sheβll be stepping away from the classroom, her legacy will live on in the hearts of the many students, families, and colleagues she has touched. Thank you, Mrs. Jurik, for your years of dedication, love, and inspiration! ππΊ

πβ¨ Huachuca Mountain Bolts Inspired by Young Authors! β¨π
Huachuca Mountain students have been inspired by Anna and Ian Burnett, 17-year-old twin authors of The Queen of Spotland! πΎπ These talented young writers, who started their book at just 10 years old, began visiting the Bolts last week after Ms. Vinch discovered they live right here in Sierra Vista and invited them to share their journey.
With testing season approaching, writing is more important than ever, and this was the perfect opportunity for our Bolts to learn from young authors who turned their love for storytelling into a published book.
The Queen of Spotland began as a simple idea, inspired by their beloved Dalmatian, Becky. πΆ Initially, Anna and Ian focused on Beckyβs energetic and mischievous personality, crafting a fun and lighthearted tale. But as they grew as writers, so did their story! Over time, it evolved into a story within a story, weaving together themes of responsibility, adventure, and friendshipβcreating a book that resonates with young readers in a meaningful way.
After years of dedication, revisions, and passion, their book was published in December and has already received rave reviews! βοΈ The Bolts were amazed to hear how the twins nurtured their idea into a fully developed novel, proving that creativity and hard work can lead to something incredible.
Weβre thrilled that Anna and Ian will be returning for more visits, continuing to inspire the next generation of writers. Their enthusiasm, kindness, and connection with our students made for an unforgettable experience.
Thank you, Anna and Ian, for sharing your journey with us! βοΈπ
