A very special thank you goes to the Sierra Vista United Methodist Church for graciously opening their Activity Center and allowing our students and staff to call it home for the day.
We are grateful for our strong community and proud of how everyone came together to keep students safe and cared for. We look forward to welcoming our Bolts back into the building tomorrow!

We are so thankful for our Bolts community!
PS: Thanks to our maintenance team for trouble shooting the problem today!

We are happy to share that full electricity has been restored at Huachuca Mountain. All students are being escorted back to the school building at this time.
Dismissal will take place on a normal schedule, and all students can be picked up directly from Huachuca Mountain this afternoon. Bus transportation will also run as usual.
Thank you again for your patience, flexibility, and support today. We are so proud of our staff and students for handling this unexpected situation with such resilience.
Sincerely,
SVUSD

Thank you for your continued patience as we adjust to todayβs power outage. The air conditioning in the Huachuca Mountain MPR/Cafeteria has also stopped working, so all grade levels (Kβ6 and TLC) are now at the Sierra Vista United Methodist Church Activity Center for the remainder of the day.
Families wishing to pick up their students should go to the Activity Center doors with their ID. Buses will continue to run as normal at the end of the school day.
We are deeply grateful for our staff, who continue to keep students safe and comfortable, and for our families, who have shown great flexibility and support during this unusual day.
With appreciation,
SVUSD

Thank you again for your patience as we continue to adjust during todayβs power outage. For the remainder of the day, students will be divided by grade level as follows:
Grades Kβ3 will remain at the Sierra Vista United Methodist Church Activity Center. Families wishing to pick up students in these grades should do so at the Activity Center.
Grades 4β6 will move to the MRP/Cafeteria at Huachuca Mountain. Families wishing to pick up students in these grades should do so at Huachuca Mountain.
Students in the TLC program will remain at the Activity Center, regardless of grade level.
We will not be able to return students to their classrooms today and encourage families to pick up their students early if possible. Buses will run as normal at the end of the school day.
We are grateful for your flexibility and for our incredible staff who continue to keep students safe and comfortable through these unusual circumstances.
With appreciation,
SVUSD

Due to ongoing intermittent power outages at the school, students are being moved across the street to the Sierra Vista United Methodist Church Activity Center until power can be restored.
If you would like to sign your student out early, please come to the Activity Center doors with your ID. Staff will be available to assist you there.
Once power is restored, students will be escorted back to Huachuca Mountain to continue the school day as normal.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding as we work to keep students safe and comfortable.
Sincerely,
Huachuca Mountain

As you have heard, we have an employee who has been arrested. Last night, I was contacted by the Sheriffβs Office and informed that they will be releasing an official statement encouraging families to share any information they may have regarding Mr. Benjamin. We stand united with the Sheriffβs Office in urging our community members to come forward with any and all information related to this matter or to any allegation of child abuse.
As shared by the Sheriffβs Office-
Due to the circumstances in this case, the Cochise County Sheriffβs Office is asking anyone who may have come into contact with Mr. Benjamin and experienced any suspicious/criminal activity to contact the Sheriffβs office immediately via SEACOM at 520-803-3550.
Even with all of the safety protocols school districts like SVUSD must follow when hiring staff-like fingerprint clearance cards, reference checks, etcβ¦.It takes an entire community to keep our students safe. We know it may not be easy, but we encourage anyone within this community to come forward and contact law enforcement whenever you suspect a child is in danger.
Iβm a mom, this is my community, and Iβve dedicated my life to caring for children as an educator.
Once againβ¦Please contact the Sheriffβs office immediately via SEACOM at 520-803-3550 or our local police department with any information related to this or any allegations of misconduct with a child.
We must stand together to protect our children. Please join me in this fight.
