Our garden space at Huachuca Mountain needed some love! The first picture is where it started, and the last is the final project! This project was a community effort for sure! Thunder Mountain church got us started, and Huachuca Mountain PTO bought the rock. Student Council and NEHS made it happen! (And public schools are run on husband labor! 😉) During the process, parents came to help! 🩵🩵Our students were amazing, and did hard things!⚡️⚡️Thank you Ms. Wise, Ms. Vinch and Coach Mac! Thank Norton and Marturello family! Thanks to Thunder Mountain Church and our PTO!

A very special thank you goes to the Sierra Vista United Methodist Church for graciously opening their Activity Center and allowing our students and staff to call it home for the day.

We are happy to share that full electricity has been restored at Huachuca Mountain. All students are being escorted back to the school building at this time.
Dismissal will take place on a normal schedule, and all students can be picked up directly from Huachuca Mountain this afternoon. Bus transportation will also run as usual.
Thank you again for your patience, flexibility, and support today. We are so proud of our staff and students for handling this unexpected situation with such resilience.

🌞☀️ Our 3rd graders at Huachuca Mountain found the perfect way to beat the heat today—playing 9 Square in the Air! 🙌😎 Nothing like laughter, teamwork, and a little friendly competition to make the day fly by. 🍂 We’re counting down the days until that cool fall weather finally arrives! 🍁
Mrs.Vinch's fourth graders experimented with static electricity. The mission was to make their tissue people stand. Some students were even able to make their people dance.
Today, we started WALKING WEDNESDAYS with NEHS! Thank you to everyone who participated this morning!

This is Terri Romo, Interim Superintendent of Sierra Vista Unified School District. I’m coming to speak with you about a very important topic & we need our community's help.
As you have heard, we have an employee who has been arrested. Last night, I was contacted by the Sheriff’s Office and informed that they will be releasing an official statement encouraging families to share any information they may have regarding Mr. Benjamin. We stand united with the Sheriff’s Office in urging our community members to come forward with any and all information related to this matter or to any allegation of child abuse.
As shared by the Sheriff’s Office-
Due to the circumstances in this case, the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone who may have come into contact with Mr. Benjamin and experienced any suspicious/criminal activity to contact the Sheriff’s office immediately via SEACOM at 520-803-3550.
Even with all of the safety protocols school districts like SVUSD must follow when hiring staff-like fingerprint clearance cards, reference checks, etc….It takes an entire community to keep our students safe. We know it may not be easy, but we encourage anyone within this community to come forward and contact law enforcement whenever you suspect a child is in danger.
I’m a mom, this is my community, and I’ve dedicated my life to caring for children as an educator.
Once again…Please contact the Sheriff’s office immediately via SEACOM at 520-803-3550 or our local police department with any information related to this or any allegations of misconduct with a child.
We must stand together to protect our children. Please join me in this fight.
