Good Morning PDS Families,
We would like to provide an update regarding the ongoing power outages at PDS.
SSVEC has shared that the current estimated time for power restoration is 1:30 PM today. We are scheduled to receive another update from SSVEC at 11:30 AM to determine whether power may be restored sooner.
At this time, enough food was prepared to serve A and B lunches, which includes Kindergarten and 6th grade students. If power is not restored, we will not be able to provide lunch for the remaining grade levels.
At 11:30 AM, a determination will be made regarding whether students will be dismissed early for the day. Parents are welcome to come to campus to pick up their students at any time.
As a reminder, PDS currently does not have phone or internet service, so the school is unable to respond to calls or emails at this time.
We appreciate your patience and understanding and will continue to share updates as soon as they become available.
Sincerely,
Principal McDaniel

Today we celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. π
He taught us to be kind, fair, and to stand up for what is right.
Letβs remember his dream by using our words to help, our actions to care, and our hearts to include everyone. π
We hope everyone enjoys their day off, and we canβt wait to welcome everyone back at school tomorrow! π

Kindergarten has had an action packed first week back after our winter break!Β There has been lots of excitement and learning happening with the introduction of our new ELA centers.Β We have upgraded from matching capital and lowercase letters and beginning sound centers and replaced it with beanbag "sight" word toss, hide and seek cvc word/picture matching and wipe on wipe off cvc word blending. Writing on our special cabinet paper has been like a magic trick and who doesn't like tossing a beanbag.Β Best part is all the learning that is happening and the excitement that is heard when they get it correct.Β Who says learning can't be fun?

The PDS teachers and staff created a wonderful holiday show for our students right before winter break to celebrate the season and welcome the New Year. We are truly grateful for our amazing students, families, and staff who make PDS such a special community. We wish everyone a very happy holiday filled with joy, rest, and good health in the coming year, and we look forward to welcoming our students back as we begin the New Year together! β¨π

On Thursday, December 18th, Pueblo del Sol Student Council teamed up with Buenaβs JROTC to host the first-ever Reindeer Run at PDS! Families showed up in their most festive outfits and coziest holiday pajamas, ready for a jolly good time. JROTC kept the energy high with running games and line dances, and prizes were awarded for Most Spirited, Best Effort, and Best Dressed. Laughter, music, and holiday cheer filled the afternoon, making it a fun and memorable event for everyone!

All district and school offices will be closed for Winter Break as we take time to rest, recharge, and enjoy the season.
We canβt wait to welcome everyone back on January 5, when students return to school.
Wishing you a safe, joyful, and relaxing winter break!
Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year! πβ¨

On Tuesday, December 18th, Pueblo Del Sol Student Council hosted their first annual Holiday Art Gala. Student Council provided canvases for each student, and under the direction of our art teacher, Ms. Rosado, students created art pieces inspired by some of the great masters. Families enjoyed the opportunity to purchase artwork, create crafts, and decorate cookies alongside their students. The evening was filled with creativity, joy, and celebration, and it was truly inspiring to see the excitement families shared over their studentsβ artwork. We look forward to hosting more family engagement nights in the coming new year.

SGT. Louden brought some of Buenaβs finest JROTC leaders to Pueblo Del Solβs Student Council meeting, where they shared their roles and experiences in ROTC. One message that truly stood out was the importance of empathy when working with others. During the meeting, PDS StuCo and ROTC discussed how they will collaborate on an upcoming project for the school, and StuCo was enthusiastic about working with them. Having older students work alongside our younger students teaches the power of collaboration and shows what true leadership is all about. To end the meeting on a fun note, ROTC challenged StuCo to a friendly push-up contest, bringing lots of laughter and excitement to the room.

Pueblo Del Sol Student Council had the privilege of working alongside our local law enforcement officers to spread holiday cheer. Together, they helped officers provide Christmas cheer by shopping with and supporting over 160 families.

Good Afternoon Families,
I wanted to share a quick update with you. After lunch today, while staff were cleaning the cafeteria, a small electrical issue was observed when a socket began to smoke. As a precaution, the fire department was called to assess the situation.
At the time, no students were in the cafeteria, and there is no danger to students or staff. The issue has been addressed, and everything is safe.
All activities, including the Reindeer Run, will continue as scheduled today.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support.
Thank you,
Principal McDaniel

This weekend, Pueblo Del Solβs Student Council teamed up with Huachuca Mountainβs Student Council to volunteer at two meaningful community events. Their first stop was with the Kiwanis Club, where they helped wrap gifts for the Stocking Stuffer Program knowing these presents would bring joy to local families during the holiday season. Later, they headed to Santa on the West End, where they helped with decorating cookies, handing out gifts, and helping with games to make the afternoon magical for children. It was a heartwarming day filled with service, compassion, and community spirit.
