"If a child can't learn the way we teach, maybe we should teach the way they learn." —Ignacio Estrada

Autism is an extremely complex neurological disorder that occurs in 1 out of 110 children. Autism is characterized by difficulties in social interaction, verbal and nonverbal communication, and repetitive behaviors.

This guide was created to provide a list of local, state, and national resources that might be useful for both parents of children with autism and adults with autism. The organizations listed below can help individuals increase their understanding of children with autism. Some organizations also may provide support in the form of educational workshops for those who live and work with children with autism.
