With the recent announcement from the CDC regarding quarantine recommendations we have made changes to our COVID-19 Mitigation Plan. Beginning on Monday, August 15 students and staff will no longer need to quarantine after an exposure to a confirmed positive case of COVID-19.
In the event of a positive case of COVID-19 at the elementary school level, all parents and guardians of student’s within the same classroom or bus route will be notified that there was a confirmed case in that classroom or bus route.
In the event of the positive case of COVID-19 at Joyce Clark or Buena, the parents of students who sit within 6ft of the positive student or staff member in class period will be notified of the exposure. In line with CDC recommendations, we will recommend that those individuals who have been exposed to a positive case of COVID-19 wear a mask for 10 after exposure.
School sites will no longer send out school wide notifications of positive COVID-19 cases to all parents.
The Center for Disease Control and Prevention created a COVID-19 Community Level dashboard. COVID-19 Community Levels are a new tool to help communities decide what prevention steps to take based on the latest data. Levels can be low, medium, or high and are determined by looking at hospital beds being used, hospital admissions, and the total number of new COVID-19 cases in an area. Take precautions to protect yourself and others from COVID-19 based on the COVID-19 Community Level in your area.
