Due to the adverse weather conditions, we are asking you to please come to PDS and pick up your student. All bussers, walkers, bikers and parent pick up students need to be picked up in the office. The safety of our students is of paramount importance, and we are taking these precautions to ensure their well-being. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

We want to inform you that, due to adverse weather conditions and the presence of lightning in a 10 mile area, we will be implementing a delayed dismissal procedure today at Pueblo Del Sol Elementary School. The safety of our students is of paramount importance, and we are taking these precautions to ensure their well-being. During delayed dismissal all students who ride the bus or walk home will be kept in the school until the lightning has passed.
Parents are welcome to pick up their students by coming to the office to sign them out. Please bring a photo ID with you to the office.
We sincerely appreciate your understanding and cooperation during these weather-related delays. Your child's safety is our top priority, and we are committed to making informed decisions that ensure their well-being.

This Friday, September 1st is a half day at all SVUSD schools. Please note that all students will be released by the half day schedule. Buena High School at 10:30 am, all elementary schools at 11:15 am, and Joyce Clark Middle School at 12:30 pm. Have a wonderful weekend!
The SVUSD elementary band teachers are inviting all interested elementary parents, guardians and students to visit our Band Rental Night tonight from 4 pm to 7 pm at the Rothery Educational Center Atria. Vendor representatives from three companies will be in attendance to have students try out instruments and offer rental information. Our band teachers Mr. Gallant and Mrs. Sheridan are on site to answer any questions. The Dust Devil PTO is inviting all PDS families to their opening fundraiser for this school year on Wednesday, August 16th at Peter Piper Pizza. Come out between 5pm and 8pm to have pizza, fun and meet other Dust Devil families at the Welcome Back Night. Hope to see you on Wednesday!

Good afternoon. At this time, we are tracking a lightning alert in our area. Lightning is currently within 5 miles of PDS . Students will be held until lightning is no longer in the area. Parents may opt to sign their children out in the front office during the delay, please bring your ID with you if you are picking up your student. We will continue to watch for lightning in the area in the next 30 minutes, if at that time there is no more lightning bus riders and walkers will be released. Thanks for your patience.

Who is ready to start school?!?!?! All SVUSD schools have their first day on Wednesday, August 2nd. We are excited to have everyone back after the summer break. Just a few reminders, buses will be out in the community so please be cautious when driving. There are a lot of first day jitters so routes may take a little longer than normal. Drivers, be on the lookout for all school zones and remember to slow down. Be sure to load your MySchoolBucks account so your students can buy meals if they need. Wednesday is an early release day. Elementary ends at 12:45pm, JCMS ends at 2:15pm and Buena ends at noon. We cannot wait to see everyone on Wednesday!

Three Dustdevils are attending the National Junior Young Leader Conference in Washington DC this week. Grace Streeter, Angel Canez, and Olivia Porretta have worked incredibly hard over the past two years and earned their nominations under the leadership of Teri Neitring, the Student Council Advisor at PDS. They will be at the conference all week and attending leadership workshops, traveling to the capital to spend the day on Capitol Hill, visit many of the monuments, and Mount Vernon. Through this opportunity they are making many new friends from across the nation, as well as gaining mentors. PDS is proud of their presentation at the conference, way to go Dustdevils!
Tomorrow is the last day of the 2023 Summer Academy and we are hosting a Friday Fun Day. We will have water activities in the morning and movies and board games in the afternoon (weather permitting). Please send your children in school appropriate swimsuits and or clothes that can get wet, have applied sunscreen in the morning, bring towels, and an extra change of clothing.
