Dear Buena Families,
Due to unexpected air conditioning issues, Buena High School will be releasing students at 10:15 AM this morning. While crews were making repairs to the AC units, additional failures occurred, causing the system to stop working. As classrooms have become too warm, we believe it is best for students to leave the building.
Buses will run beginning at 10:15 AM to take students home.
Families may also pick up their students starting at 10:15 AM.
Students who are unable to go home will be relocated to the Klein Center, where the temperature is more comfortable. Lunch will be provided for those students.
We appreciate your understanding as we work to keep students safe and comfortable. Thank you for your cooperation.
Sincerely,
Sierra Vista Unified School District

Crews will continue working to restore power to the gym before tomorrow, and we will keep you updated if anything changes. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we navigated this situation.

Dear JCMS Families,
Joyce Clark Middle School is currently experiencing intermittent power outages. As a result, the school will operate on a 2-hour delay today, with classes beginning at 11:00 a.m.
Students who have already boarded their buses will be taken to JCMS. However, buses will not be completing the remainder of their morning routes, so families of students who have not yet been picked up will need to make alternate arrangements.
Repair crews are working on the issue, but if power is not fully restored, we may need to cancel school for the day. If that decision becomes necessary, we will notify families immediately.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work through this situation.

πβ¨ Ever wonder what goes on behind the curtain of a professional theatre? Buenaβs Stagecraft (Theatre Technology) students are getting a front-row seat to it all!
They kicked off the year with a backstage tour of the Klein Center β including a climb to the grid 53 feet above the stage floor! π‘
Taught by industry pros Mrs. Duerk and Ms. Hampton, Stagecraft CTE classes give students hands-on experience in every technical aspect of theatre: costume design, lighting, sound engineering, and stage management.
As students grow in the program, they can join the crews for Buenaβs five annual mainstage shows β and even land paid technician positions for community events hosted at the Klein Center. π‘πΆ
Stagecraft is just one of the incredible CTE opportunities at Buena that prepare students for life beyond high school. π

π New Drop-Off & Pick-Up Procedures at Joyce Clark β Starting July 30th! πΈ
To improve student safety, we're making important changes to our traffic flow this year:
β All student drop-offs will now take place at the north entrance so students can exit safely onto the curbβno more stepping into traffic!
π« No double-lane drop-offs allowed in front of the school. Please pull all the way forward before letting your child out to help keep traffic moving.
π South entrance = Buses only. Cars will not be permitted to enter here.
β‘οΈ Families may travel either direction on Lenzer Ave, but must enter at the north driveway and exit via the south driveway.
π« Do NOT use the parking lot to skip the line or drop off your childβthis creates serious safety risks.
Weβll have staff and law enforcement on campus to guide the flow. Please follow all directions and signage.
We know change takes patienceβand we appreciate yours as we prioritize what matters most: our studentsβ safety. π
