Joyce Clark Middle School is currently experiencing intermittent power outages. As a result, the school will operate on a 2-hour delay today, with classes beginning at 11:00 a.m.
Students who have already boarded their buses will be taken to JCMS. However, buses will not be completing the remainder of their morning routes, so families of students who have not yet been picked up will need to make alternate arrangements.
Repair crews are working on the issue, but if power is not fully restored, we may need to cancel school for the day. If that decision becomes necessary, we will notify families immediately.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work through this situation.

They kicked off the year with a backstage tour of the Klein Center β including a climb to the grid 53 feet above the stage floor! π‘
Taught by industry pros Mrs. Duerk and Ms. Hampton, Stagecraft CTE classes give students hands-on experience in every technical aspect of theatre: costume design, lighting, sound engineering, and stage management.
As students grow in the program, they can join the crews for Buenaβs five annual mainstage shows β and even land paid technician positions for community events hosted at the Klein Center. π‘πΆ
Stagecraft is just one of the incredible CTE opportunities at Buena that prepare students for life beyond high school. π

A heartfelt thank you to our incredible school counselors for being there for our students and staff after yesterdayβs accident. Your care and compassion make such a difference.
We also want to give a special shout-out to the Go Team Therapy Dogs who visited our school yesterday and today, bringing comfort, smiles, and a little extra love when we needed it most. πΎπ
Weβre happy to share that the student involved in the accident is now home with her family and did not suffer any major injuries.
π Safety Reminder: Please use extra caution when driving during school arrival and dismissal timesβyour attentiveness helps keep all of our students safe.
Thank you to everyone in our Town & Country community for your kindness and support during this time. π #RoadrunnerStrong

To improve student safety, we're making important changes to our traffic flow this year:
β All student drop-offs will now take place at the north entrance so students can exit safely onto the curbβno more stepping into traffic!
π« No double-lane drop-offs allowed in front of the school. Please pull all the way forward before letting your child out to help keep traffic moving.
π South entrance = Buses only. Cars will not be permitted to enter here.
β‘οΈ Families may travel either direction on Lenzer Ave, but must enter at the north driveway and exit via the south driveway.
π« Do NOT use the parking lot to skip the line or drop off your childβthis creates serious safety risks.
Weβll have staff and law enforcement on campus to guide the flow. Please follow all directions and signage.
We know change takes patienceβand we appreciate yours as we prioritize what matters most: our studentsβ safety. π

As you have heard, we have an employee who has been arrested. Last night, I was contacted by the Sheriffβs Office and informed that they will be releasing an official statement encouraging families to share any information they may have regarding Mr. Benjamin. We stand united with the Sheriffβs Office in urging our community members to come forward with any and all information related to this matter or to any allegation of child abuse.
As shared by the Sheriffβs Office-
Due to the circumstances in this case, the Cochise County Sheriffβs Office is asking anyone who may have come into contact with Mr. Benjamin and experienced any suspicious/criminal activity to contact the Sheriffβs office immediately via SEACOM at 520-803-3550.
Even with all of the safety protocols school districts like SVUSD must follow when hiring staff-like fingerprint clearance cards, reference checks, etcβ¦.It takes an entire community to keep our students safe. We know it may not be easy, but we encourage anyone within this community to come forward and contact law enforcement whenever you suspect a child is in danger.
Iβm a mom, this is my community, and Iβve dedicated my life to caring for children as an educator.
Once againβ¦Please contact the Sheriffβs office immediately via SEACOM at 520-803-3550 or our local police department with any information related to this or any allegations of misconduct with a child.
We must stand together to protect our children. Please join me in this fight.

Last month, 50 of our amazing teachers and leadership team members spent 2Β½ days in Scottsdale at the Solution Tree Conference, diving into powerful sessions on educator wellness, school transformation, and creating cultures of belonging. π‘π¬
Huge thanks to our incredible Curriculum Team for organizing this grant-funded opportunityβand to every staff member who gave up part of their summer break to grow, collaborate, and (letβs be honest) brave that Arizona heat! βοΈπ₯
Your commitment to continuous improvement is what helps us #AchieveExcellenceTogether ππ
